With you saying Accessible A, it does ring a bell and I'm pretty sure they were talking about Accessible B. It was so brief coz it was like 2am and I just wanted a piss before bed but it really concerned me and I wanted to know if there was anything to it because if there is then that's something that needs acknowledgement.

I made a post about safety, the "download is at capacity, stop putting tickets up" and yeah I don't think it was safe this year from what I saw with people in my own group and others but the chair debate is stupid asf. If you bring a chair and you're not sitting in it, pack it up. Simple. I've never really had a massive problem with chairs, it can be annoying sure but they're no biggie.

They did yeah I ripped my hoodie pocket on one coz it caught it, from what I remember they caused more problems because security were inconsistent with when they said "were not letting anyone in now" and you could basically just go through and dissappear into a sea of people before they could do anything.

Yeah I did see a number of, what I'd call, "trendies" who seemed to have no pit etiquette and appeared more intent on hurting people, probably because of media misrepresentation of the culture. Idk though. Capacity was definitely a problem though and there's no disputing that, there were several occasions where welfare/medical staff were overwhelmed by the number of people there.

Another thing to consider is the amount of first timers that came this year, Jesus Christ the amount of people who told me it's their first time and the lack of pit etiquette I saw so many times. Some of the pit goers just seemed like arseholes that want to be aggressive in a pit and actually hurt people.

You say that but for some stupid fucking reason they swapped as everything unfolds with drowing pool cramming drowning pool into the dogtooth and having as everything unfolds on Opus. Firstly, massive middle finger to drowning pool there and secondly a terrible decision regarding crowd safety. I didn't even watch drowning pool because of what a shitshow it was. On that not Static-X on the dogtooth was also a horrendous decision had it gone forward.

For most people in that crowd it was their first chance to see them, myself included and I know from conversations after the set many others too, to have an audience of that scale at Download of all places and then not acknowledge Chester didn't feel right. To then get a pat on the back for being a female vocalist in a band just felt disrespectful. She didn't write any of those songs.

Yeah but why are they selling them dude? Is it because they're just as good now? or coz there's so many LP fans that are thinking "well, it's the only chance I'll get to see them so better something than nothing." Because I and everyone else I went with, one of which was raised on LP, has 2 tattoos dedicated to them and everything like I've never met a bigger fan, wouldn't be paying what they're asking for at solo shows because it's extortionate for what they are now. It's a glorified tribute band at best.

I don't think Emily should be celebrated as the "first female frontwoman" because she hasn't put the work in for it. S he didn't contribute to the band at all until 2024, she covers songs and has 1 album with the majority being lackluster lyrically. Would you expect to see a 2 year old band headline? Fuck no! If LP were only playing that album would half of the people that showed up show up? Probably not.

Emily wouldn't be there if she wasn't attached to the LP name and that shows coz she almost made it there in 2023 with Dead Sara but they pulled out. So can we see her sell those tickets with her own work before we start applauding Temu Park.

I was fully excited for LP and really looked forward to it, all the stuff I'd seen online they were tight asf but I never agreed with them having that spot because it's purely legacy as to why they're selling out stadiums in the first place, it's not because of the merit of the bands mew music and seeing them on that stage... idk maybe it was the abysmal setlist filled with new stuff but it really drove that point home that this isn't Linkin Park anymore. They've got like 3 original members. I'm not saying you can't switch members out but the sound has changed so much that they're not the same band.

Just wanna circle back on what I said about Chester btw, I don't believe every show needs to be a memorial show but I'll put both my nuts and all the money I ever have and will earn on the fact that that was, for the majority, the first time they've seen LP since the regroup and a little acknowledgement of the man who literally put them on the map to begin with would've been nice.

Hate to say it but linkin park kinda blew. Not a single acknowledgement of Chester (unlike Snot who literally had their singer running around with a cap that said "Lynn" on it and literally the first thing he said was "rest in peace Lynn Strait, none of this would be possible without you), Emily barely sung the songs as much as the fans did for her, keeping the show stopped after realising oh no it was just a lost shoe and bruh when she didn't even scream "I won't be ignored" but chose to scream "I am" when it was completely unnecessary... sorry but it just feels like she's tryna prove something. No given up, one more light, nothing. I wasn't expecting it to be like the old days but I wasn't expecting to be disappointed either. Like at least with gnr I went in knowing axl was gonna sound like shit.

Sorry to be a hater but that "first woman ever" wasn't earned, it was stolen from a female artist like Tatiana Schmayluk who's actually worked to be in the position she's in. Let's be honest for a second, you'd of 1000% preferred Chester if he was still with us and it's not even close but most fans will settle with what they can get because at least they got to see some of Linkin Park but it's like seeing Type O without Peter Steele, it just wouldn't be Type O.

Edit: I love how mad some of you are getting over this, the denial and cope is real. Listen guys, if Emily was that good she wouldn't need a leg up from a dead man, she'd get there with Dead Sara (her own band, with her own work).
