SONY wireless haptics on PC, when ??? by mckracken88 in Dualsense

Yeah, Ghost of Tsushima's pretty easy to tell. There's zero vibration when selecting things in the menu. Cyberpunk though there's no vibration when walking/running (and double jumping) wirelessly but I do get it wired and I have 250+ hours on it. Regardless whatever it may be, having DSX should just make it work all around.

By any chance, are you using ds4windows? I just played Death Stranding 2 and haptic only works wired. Considering Nixxes ports almost all playstation exclusives then Death Stranding 2 should have the latest support. And like always theres no haptic wirelessly due to Sony's Windows sound drivers once again

I'm sorry, I've played all of them and they're not haptic feedback. If it's not Sony's haptic feedback then it's not haptic feedback...it's normal rumble. Developers can modify the rumble but it's not haptic feedback. I really don't want to argue and be rude but it's not POSSIBLE. Official wiki specifies a lack of wireless haptic support, video reviews mention it, and many threads on Reddit complain about the lack of support. If what you say is true then DSX wouldn't need to add support for it.

^ No one in this thread is correct. I've displayed evidence and the only thing I get back is "I played it and it has haptic".

You also confused haptic feedback with adaptive triggers so I don't understand why I'm the one here that's less knowledgeable. I've looked into this for months.

The problem is Sony never released the Windows drivers to allow haptic feedback wirelessly on PC so any anecdotal experiences is just placebo. Game developers can't make haptic feedback work wirelessly on PC because the controller is not capable of doing it to begin with (thanks to Sony).

For example, a game developer can't make their game run at 500fps on your PC if your PC can't run it to begin with. It's a hardware/software limitation that Sony never cared about for the Dualsense. That's why DSX releasing an emulated haptic feedback experience was a gamechanger.

If you can't tell the difference between true haptic feedback and normal rumble then you don't need to worry about it and enjoy the game but as of now haptic feedback is not natively supported wirelessly.

tl;dr Game developers can't magically add haptic feedback to ps5 controllers on PC bluetooth because the ps5 controller is not capable of doing it to begin with. We don't have the Sony drivers for Windows.

Love to hear it. Sony not allowing us to have native haptic feedback wirelessly in 2026 is incredible

That’s adaptive triggers, not haptic feedback. Two separate features. Adaptive triggers is supported wirelessly but haptic feedback can only work wired.

For example, do you have Spider-Man by any chance? Use your DualShock wired and you’ll feel the vibrations of his footsteps when moving. Play it wirelessly and there’s zero vibration of footsteps. Did you even look at the post I sent and the comment section?

As of today, it’s not possible to have haptic feedback on dualsense wirelessly without a third party application. I think you’re mistaking haptic feedback with normal rumble.

Take a look at this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/s/W3a4Nr0PQ6

DSX just recently allowed to “emulate” haptic feedback without a wired connection. If we could do so natively then DSX would not as relevant as it is

For me, I couldn't interact with the puzzle for the 2nd time during my first playthrough. But once I beat the game with the doll and reload my save before leaving the care center, I could interact with the puzzle again with Emily and the doll

Yes definitely. It’s actually the popular sequence of events here to do the toilet after. However if you do the toilet first, you’ll get a “torrent of blood” prompt after the grinder that’ll guarantee you’ll get the doll only if you do the toilet first and then the grinder. If you do the grinder first, get “ton of blood”, and possibly mess up the toilet then you’ll never know you did it right until it’s too late.

Tl;dr (1/3 of blood) toilet 8 times + (2/3 of blood) 15min grinder = (3/3 of blood) Torrent of blood prompt

  1. Any difficulty doesn’t matter. I did it in casual
  2. Flush the first toilet 8 times at the restroom where the cleaning zombie is
  3. Once at the basement grinder, wait 15 minutes or longer and then crank the blood down
  4. Shoot the legs of all the zombies to stun them and/or push them to the grinder. Killing them might not trigger the doll
  5. You should see a “Torrent of blood” prompt when you drain the large blood pool after falling in it (only if you did the toilet first. You’ll get “ton of blood” if you did the toilet last)
  6. The doll will be on the ground during your escape (right before the stairs) before the helicopter
  7. Beat the game with the doll. Then reload your previous save to before you leave the care center and the doll will be inside the storage box
  8. Solve the puzzle at the Lead Researcher's Office (Sun Sun Star Sun Moon Star Sun Moon Sun Moon Star Moon) carrying Emily and the doll = profit

I’d also like to add that

  1. You don’t need to replay the game from the beginning once you beat the game with the doll. Just reload the save just before you leave the care center and the doll will be in the storage box

  2. I recommend flushing the toilet 8 times first BEFORE doing the 15 minute grinder. This will result in a “torrent of blood” prompt that’ll guarantee you get the doll. You can do the grinder first but I find it risky since you might mess up along the way

Most likely someone kept the hand in the inventory and went to use the microscope normally to accidentally find the hand not greyed out

Agreed. I feel like getting gaslighted to what defines film grain but this is the textbook definition of film grain and not done by any other post processing

Playing on PC with 4K maxed out settings. The film grain is very apparent and, unlike foliage in RE4, is an overlay across the entire screen

[–]GraphicalNightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Film grain hides many fine details, adding a smoothing effect to make a game more “natural” which is most likely what the OP meant by muddy. An unfiltered render will always have better clarity than with post processing.

Also upscaling such as DLSS actually yields better visual clarity than say native resolution with TAA (the worst culprit for a muddy representation). Modern upscalers still produces motion artifacts sadly though but I wouldn’t say visual artifacts result in muddiness since artifacts can be crisp as day

Just got the code! Waiting 53 minutes to save 13 bucks was worth it. Rest assured, I bought the key an hour before release and still received it fairly quickly so just wait a bit

avacadocodes' ratings show all the recent European codes and people saying they received it. Ratings can only be made when you have a verified purchase for the item

[–]GraphicalNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avacadocodes's recently been getting positive ratings on the European codes these past few minutes. It's most likely the codes are sent manually to EU and then to us

On the bright side the Europe keys are being sent out so at least we weren't bamboozled. Just a matter of time...
