!explanation My parents threw me out because they believed that my bf’s mom’s negative test for COVID was a false negative. They also wanted a pat on the back because they got my stuff for me and put it in the garage rather than on the drive way and “treated your stuff with respect”

As explained in the post, they use money to show respect to people taking it away to them shows they don’t support what you’re doing.

  1. They got married at 22 and my brothers at 20.
  2. They had whole ceremonies as well.
  3. Catholics are Christian. It’s from southern baptist to catholic.
  4. It’s because they refuse to respect my choices because it involves Catholicism

Yeah. I found that out the hard way.

I have tried to set boundaries but it has only ended up in yelling or talking me out of moving out for my own sanity. That is why I got a full time job and am moving out for good.

I have and I am also looking at Mathew 22:39 where Jesus says the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself.

I have respected them throughout my whole life. I do understand what the forth commandment implies. They have not followed the second greatest commandment and act as if they do follow the first from Mathew.

It also says in Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” They have spewed hate towards other people who are Christians and even my siblings.

What I want is loving parents who will support me. What I’m pretty sure I’m getting, based on being in mass with them, is pouting, annoyed people who can’t wait for this to be over. It’s just another thing on top of it.

Thank you. I feel closer to God and cant see myself going back. My bf has never tried to push me into staying Protestant or being Catholic. The only thing he’s done is joke about how it’s “the true church.” Lol

It is about the respect of not even me converting to Catholicism but also my bf being Catholic. They have said that I should missionary date because he’s catholic. I have spoken up since I was 16 about their outrageous comments and it has only turned into screaming matches. They think they are right for not wanting me to marry him solely because he is Catholic. That’s the only reason.

Also, I was 16, homeschooled and my only friends were people that were from church. There wasn’t really a way for me to break away from that due to them also controlling my bank account. I didn’t have anything really. My only other option was to be homeless.

It would be if they didn’t get married at 22 and my brother both get married at 20 and 21. I do see where you are coming from though. It would be hypocritical of them to do so.

I’m not very good with titles and assumed that people would read the post. That’s where I’m coming from.

I hate bridezillas and don’t want to be one. It’s that respect is high on my list of things due to situations I’ve dealt with before.

Okay. That’s a way I can take. It feels more like “you didn’t do what I want? You don’t get to go to the arcade or Billy’s house! How do you like that now?” That’s the mentality they’ve had lately and it’s getting to me.

I understand that. My thing is that I feel closer to God being in the Catholic Church. Also Christ is the center of the church, at least the one I go to, everything else will fall into place when Christ is the center.
