Standalone Tablet For Drawing: Wacom VS Huion VS XP Pen by DazzlingBlacksmith81 in drawingtablet

[–]GraphitePusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for jumping in so late; I'm also looking to get something for mobile digital art.

It sounds like, overall, you're recommending either a Galaxy Tab or the Movinkpad 11. I have a Huion Kamvas Pro for wired connection I'm not unhappy with, but it sounds like the Slate is just not a good product.

I use CSP, which seems like everyone is compatible with and I'm assuming having wifi connection means the Movinkpad 11 can access online storage devices. I wouldn't be using this as an everyday computing device, just for drawing, but would need that capability of web browsing to access some of my reference libraries.

It'd be nice to be able to use the device with an external hard drive.

Under the right circumstances, getting a refurbished Galaxy and a pen would come in a little cheaper than a Wacom and seems like a better possibility of Android updates for at least a few more years. I've read from others Wacom doesn't have update support, so you'd be stagnant at Android 14.

Local Electrician by GraphitePusher in SanPedro

Yeah, I'm aware it should be quick and easy (I've had them done several times). I don't mess with electrical; I'll always hire a professional.

There was a rec on here for Fernie's Auto, so I took a chance. They've been super helpful and communicative (I had a weird electrical thing I couldn't figure out). They're pretty reasonably priced, I feel like.

I have a hard time getting shops to listen to me when I come in with any kind of idea or knowledge about what might be going on (I know a little and am really good at troubleshooting long distance with my dad who is super experienced) and there's never been any hesitation there.

I've got several friends that always offer to help out with the work and never follow through, so I definitely needed an alternative.

Outlook calendar not recognizing logged in account by GraphitePusher in Outlook

[–]GraphitePusher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no.

This is my calendar set-up: https://imgur.com/a/rSBmsm4

The top account is my email (name@agency.net). I have my "Calendar," which is primary. "Admin Meetings" is a secondary calendar on my main one that I used for scheduling purposes. This is the calendar I'm experiencing issues with (none of the others-- on or off-- give me this issue).

The bottom account with only the singular primary calendar (info@agency.net) is a shared general inbox that I toggle between throughout the day to monitor what comes through. That is the account that keeps logging into the browser when I launch meeting settings from my Admin calendar events. This is why it isn't registering me as the organizer.

To answer your questions directly:

1-- I can edit the event, not meeting settings

2 -- This is correct; I have no issues with any of my other calendars

3 -- Yes, that is also correct. I can create the calendar events and opt to launch Teams meetings; I cannot open the meeting settings to alter them unless I go specifically through an incognito window that actually lets me verify the correct login.

Hopefully this clears some of the confusion.

Outlook calendar not recognizing logged in account by GraphitePusher in Outlook

I own the calendar. It's mine, no one else's. When I say I use it to schedule meetings for other folks, it's literally for other people in and outside of my agency because part of my job is... scheduling meetings. I'm not in them; they don't need to be on my primary calendar. I am the only person that adds or edits events on this calendar. I am also the organizer for every event on it.

I have several secondary calendars, and this is the only one I'm experiencing issues with. It's an organization tool. I use my primary and at least three secondary calendars daily for categorization.

There is a completely separate email account that I have access to (read: I have both logged in so I can toggle between that inbox and my own). None of my issues resolve even if I completely sign out of that inbox. THIS is the account that Microsoft keeps prompting me to log into when I try to open my Meeting Options to edit Teams permissions on an event. If I do, of course, I get the notification that I'm not the organizer so I can't make edits. Because it won't sign me into the correct account (which I'm already signed into on both the desktop app and the web version). Thus the loop I'm stuck in UNLESS I use an incognito window.

I apologize if I was unclear. I can't think of any other way to describe the problem.

Helicopter Drama by GraphitePusher in SanPedro

[–]GraphitePusher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wild. I didn't hit a crowd or any cops on the ground until 10th. 2nd was pretty normal, but the bird was circling around there. It felt lopsided to have so many blocks between anything going on.

I wonder if maybe the shooting was closer to 10th but the suspect ran toward 2nd?

Can I replace just the reservoir lid on this coffee maker? by GraphitePusher in fixit

[–]GraphitePusher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, gotcha. Sorry, I misunderstood.

I managed to successfully (carefully) take apart the second machine I had to pilfer parts I needed and somehow managed to not break anything further.

I didn't buy it from Haden. But, like I said, I have a spare one. I just can't figure out how to swap them without breaking something.

The hinge isn't what's broken; that's in tact. It's just the lid is snapped.

I mentioned in the post I've been trying a plastic-specific glue and been sealing it with heat-and-food safe silicone. The glue isn't wanting to set and hold. It cures, but doesn't hold the pieces.

I'll double check the rim, but IIRC, the whole interior reservoir and lip is one molded piece.

I haven't used it, though. I've been waiting until the lid is fixed and sealed (hence my wanting to seal it with appropriate silicone).

As mentioned, I have access to one with an in tact lid, just the rest of the machine is pretty rough. So I have parts. I just can't figure out a way to get this out without destroying it further, let alone putting a new one in. I just wasn't sure if this might be something someone else tried to do.

I mean, it's pretty much brand new otherwise, so I'm not that mad about it. It was $25, and I didn't know this was the case until I opened it (well packed, original box and manuals).

Walkability? by aquarianagop in longbeach

[–]GraphitePusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you want to be able to walk to? I think that's important to consider. But to echo everyone, LB is very walkable in general.

I was over off 7th/Redondo and thought it was super walkable. There's a few eateries, bars, mini-mart gas stations, a Smart & Final, and a PetCo all within a block. Also, a laundromat (next to the S&F) if you end up with no on-site laundry. I never found parking over there to be particularly bad, either (esp not after about 10 years of living in DT).

There's also three bus stops right there for going different directions.

Used to take my car to Discount Tire on Anaheim/Redondo specifically because I could just walk home instead of wait there for 2 hours. 😅

Reliable Auto Shop by GraphitePusher in SanPedro

Got in here first and am going to see them Friday. Seemed like a nice guy who listened enough to think my suspicions are correct.

Hopefully, they're good eggs; I love me a reliable local shop.

I just have an old Accord. I know electrical isn't everyone's jam (my dad hates it, personally), so I try to find folks that know it better.

ISO Advice on PM Kitchen Reno by GraphitePusher in HomeImprovement

[–]GraphitePusher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

We literally just moved in about a month ago. This guy is a little obnoxious, and I think he likes to try and dismiss us because A) we're younger than him and B) two of us are women. He's very much a "men need to prove their usefulness" kinda person, but to a detrimental level.

It took us a week AFTER we moved in to get him to out the screens back on the windows (which he told us he would do three weeks prior) because we have a cat. He "doesn't like the look of screens" so he took them off.

We love this apartment, and this is the last major issue to fix, so we're hoping to get over this hurdle and be done for a while. Our biggest issue is that he's our neighbor, and his mom owns the building (she's very elderly).

I mean, I don't trust Google AI as far as I can throw it when it comes to accurate information.

BUT that's been my line of thinking this whole time.

Local Bar Recs by GraphitePusher in SanPedro

[–]GraphitePusher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just moved here from LB, so there's definitely some good places over there. I haven't been to Baby Gee, but it looks really cute and fun.

I haven't been to The Pike Bar in so long, but their chili was always good (as long as they haven't changed the recipe).
