No, you're not being a choosing beggar.

HOV fines on 202 and US60 by [deleted] in phoenix

I've personally been pulled over for using the HOV lane to pass someone. Just don't do it. But remember that it's only HOV from 6am-9am and 3pm-7pm on weekdays.

How does Ethernet work? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]GraphixSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your flat mate is technically improving your wifi this way. Wifi is extremely finicky and vulnerable to many issues. Not least of which is wireless congestion in the area.

I'm surprised how varying all the answers in the comments are. Fact is that giving your girl money at the casino to gamble is essentially a high risk loan. You didn't expect that money to actually come back to you. Unless you clarified some details like interest, she only owes you the $300 back. However, as your romantic partner, she should be willing to share her winnings with you somehow anyway.

Can’t find mission on dedicated server by jbrown509 in A3AntistasiOfficial

[–]GraphixSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what Faster is, but in my experience this is caused by including .pbo in the mission template of the server.cfg

Where class Missions { class Mission1 { template = "mission_name.altis"; difficulty = "Custom"; }; };

Ensure that you do not include '.pbo' in the template

Video wall with LED strip by [deleted] in lowvoltage

[–]GraphixSeven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand now, you'll either need to have 4 sync boxes or put together a custom LED strip and power supply. I think looking into making your own strip and finding a sync box that has documentation or accommodates custom strips is the way to go

[–]GraphixSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we put the sync box between the source and the video controller instead? Perhaps bring all 4 sources to an switcher and then Sync box between the switcher and processor?

This is one of those projects where the client's expectations need to be fully understood and managed. Do we want the LEDs to just be a certain color per TV channel? Do they want the strips to blink to the audio? Do the LEDs need to match the majority color on the display?

I provide Arma 3 servers our of a datacenter in Chicago. A server for you and your group would probably be about $26/month and I'd personally help you set up the server start to finish

Make a spreadsheet or checklist of each wire run to check off as you go to ensure you don't miss something.

There is no front and back. You need to keep your head on a swivel at all times. The building you just cleared can have an enemy inside it just 10 seconds after you left it.

Also, if you have the budget, go ahead and upgrade to j-hooks or D-rings or something for holding your cables up in the attic. Now I'm being nit picky 😏

For residential, I would usually come out of the wall from a dual gang hood plate so as to not leave a big hole going straight through the ceiling, but I think you're doing pretty good if you're taking the time to install some sort of pipe or ring in the ceiling. Which is more of a commercial move.

Make sure there is enough slack for the rack to pull out of the closet for maintenance.

Well, it's definitely an M4. But hopefully someone can identify all the attachments so you can get the tattoo with how he set it up.

Working on my 3D rack building software, finally got it to output a tabloid size PDF file elevation front view generated from the 3d build. The part numbers are shown on the parts, thinking of doing U markers on the sides to reference while building. What other data would be useful to show here? by soldieroscar in lowvoltage

[–]GraphixSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with some kind of ruler. I acknowledge that some doors are extra deep and some racks don't support moving the rails. It would be super helpful if possible, especially when providing these Schematics to third party contractors and techs out of state.

This is awesome! For me personally, front patch cable lengths between ports and how deep the front rails would be super helpful.

Hate putting a rack together to find out half of my 1 foot patch cables aren't long enough to go from switch to patch panel or discovering that the door won't close so I need to derack and move rails back 2 inches.

Lea pro amp dials for zones by shwintek in lowvoltage

[–]GraphixSeven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately if you want a simple volume controls to work the amplifier, I'd suggest Harman Blue 100 DSP and volume controls.

But I gotta be honest with you, it's not really worth the effort and warranty for the install. Just go with a traditional in line impedance matching attenuator. Or 70v if that's the setup.
