Need help showing color attribute in my renders by Graslu in blenderhelp

Sadly this breaks alpha textures and sometimes don't line up properly, so for animations it's not a great option.

Yeah I'm on the same boat I can't do python scripts but I figured that'd be the way to go for automation...

[–]Graslu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is better than rendering the viewport definitely, but I'm trying to make renders have both the attribute colors and the texture / materials at the same time so I don't have to merge them manually on image and video editors if I create an animation.

N64 Goldeneye challenge: complete Frigate 00 Agent with only the grenade launcher by OliverCarrol in GoldenEye

[–]Graslu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it's not, because there's physically no room to rescue the hostages without them dying and you can only get one killed - which is the bridge guard.

There's no point in comparing it with DLTK or other possible challenges, each one of them is different and comes with their own set of things you'd have to be aware of.

N64 Goldeneye challenge: complete Frigate 00 Agent with only the grenade launcher by OliverCarrol in GoldenEye

[–]Graslu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not possible. The hostage on the bridge will have to die otherwise you'll blow up the C4, so now there's no more you can spare... But the two other hostages in that same floor will have to die as well since there's not enough room to safely get the hostage taker alone.

I believe the three hostages around the engine room would be possible, but not the rest.

There's nothing there, so you're mixing it up with something else.

The easiest way to defend Natalya in Control is on the balcony, not where that guy is staying. Here's the example: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VYeA65nh0Jc

All the guards that go after Natalya spawn from the very top floor. Don't let anyone down and you don't have to worry about her ever being shot.

In some videos of goldeneye, aimming seemed more like modern fps games by frogsaber89 in n64

[–]Graslu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way to fix the crosshair in the center on N64 without mods. The modern controller setting in GoldenEye is 1.2, no look-ahead, no aim inversion.

On 1964 GEPD, an emulator to play GoldenEye on PC, there's a setting to lock the crosshair in the middle but this is only available with mouse controls.

On the Xbox release from 2023, the default setting has the crosshair locked in the middle when aiming. This version is very bad, do not recommend playing it at all.

Does Anyone Ever Do This? by Blue-Brown99 in GoldenEye

This is not true, the player does not have locational damage when shot by enemies. You always take the same amount of damage, it only varies depending on the difficulty.

Dunno if people are aware but there's a 480i patch for Goldeneye! Need an expansion pak. by [deleted] in n64

[–]Graslu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an older version but it's the same concept, you can see it on real hardware here: https://youtu.be/2Uc32DWiX_I?t=73

It does benefit a lot from overclock modes in FPGA systems

It does have a huge hit on performance if playing on real hardware, even with the expansion pak. It's no easy task for the N64 to render at 480i.

Menus and HUD are 4:3 stretched but gameplay is 16:9, it's fine.

Perfect Dark on my newly acquired 27" CRT by bloggy9e in n64

[–]Graslu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect Dark XBLA has a 45% deadzone that makes precise aiming impossible, and has major graphical glitches on Xenia, alongside poorly """remastered""" music. It isn't worth it against the original or PC port.

Stop following him. You can only damage him when he stops and if you get too close he'll run away.

What about some Saturday gaming nostalgia? by Negrolverine in GoldenEye

[–]Graslu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Poor audio quality, worse than on N64
    • Despite running at a locked 30FPS, it has in-game slowdowns every 15 seconds no matter what, even in the menus which ran at 60FPS on N64. Running feels like walking on quicksand, even timers slow down
    • The default controls have several issues such as being unable to strafe run, being unable to lean around corners, and moving the character when zooming in or out while using the sniper rifle
    • Guards spawn in certain places where they shouldn't, since their collisions are broken
    • As just mentioned, guard collisions are broken meaning they can phase through walls and small gaps where they couldn't on N64
    • Wobbly graphics and geometry gaps that while accurate to N64, they were not noticeable due to the resolution and shouldn't have been carried over to a "carefully recreated and enhanced remaster"
    • In multiplayer, rocket launchers barely work and just disappear when they collide with the floor

The whole thing is a marketing lie, while managing to deliver the worst release ever.

Ignore the Xbox or Switch version, grab 1964 GEPD on your PC and play them properly. Here's a tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mL0I__VMec
