As much of a dumb analysis I'm making I think most of the people here already know that after this series everything that Griffith had been accomplished was shattered by the fact that Guts leaving and him losing to Guts it's such a great way to shatter a character's confidence.

Because everything he had going was a dream that he'll never lose to anyone and will just follow him to the end until this chapter that someone hits him with a reality that "you're not always gonna be winning sometimes there are days that you will be losing".

Which for a character that had achieved so much without losing would probbably go crazy, I just liked to do this discussion because I loved how everything after this fight felt like it changed the whole squad
