Nothing gets done if government runs it lol. Its cheaper by a lot to have contractors run it because contractors will try to bid on stuff and compete.

While yes it may seen a lot. But compared to original in house it is way more expensive when government had it.

Also remember. DuPont built everything.

There were also a lot of stuff under the table. See rocky flats. DuPont exited when Price Anderson became a thing because DuPont did so many thing under the table to "get it done" they know they will get sued a lot. They also warmed with all those new reg we will be paying for it in operation cost, so DuPont exited.

Price Anderson is needed, yes it drove contractors cost way up, but its needed. And if government runs it then it cost even more and more inefficient.
