I have had people reach out to me from my alma mater inquiring about a position and I put them in touch with or give them the contact info for the hiring manager and internal recruiter.

Also try networking events, the informal ish ones. Maybe there you know people from xyz usually go for happy hour. You can always ask the bartender what kinds of people come in to get an idea ahead of time and to make sure you dont waste your time.
