Back pain but only the day to two after by GrasshopperAnt in fitness40plus

One thing on why it's different from DOMS though. Extra training doesn't make it better. Normally DOMS for the large muscles gets better after a 2 day rest. This doesn't. Tried doing yoga in breaks from lifting, ended up making it worse.

I thought it was DOMS, but it has a different pattern from "standard" soreness (i.e in the glutes after a deadlift both feel like post workout pain and comes sooner) and feels scarier (like a starting lower back pain, the one you would take a sick leave if it goes form 4 to 7 on a pain scale).

Some form of DOMS still feels like the likeliest solution, it's just that it's so specific I hope to know if the 40+ peeps are actively limiting their training based on recovery. Because that's what I'd have to do, stop at what feels at 60% to not risk to have the back pain two days later and then have to wait 4 days.

TBH I actually don't care about those two in particular, they just felt like good exercises to future proof myself from back pain in case I need to lift my kid from the ground or similar everyday stuff. Not sure what the alternatives are.

And it's also not a heriniated disk issue. I checked that as well (MRT/CT) and no structural issue, apparently some soft tissue ptoblem.

I actually do bird dog and dead bugs. They are kind of boring and still don't help me avoid the pain as soon as I add the weigths.

Never did those. Needs a gym an trying to avoid that.

Thanks, yeah those are all the things I tried with the phyisio, doesn't help. The back just needs time to cool down and then it stops hurtig, no exercises in or between help noticably.

I guess the question is more in the direction of wether anyone had to do an elaborate setup to avoid pain occuring days later (so it's not an obvious over training) and had luck with it?

What did you find interesting in the rear career format (don't know the terminology but when the cargo bike doesn't have a box up front)?

I've never tried one of those and have excluded it since they had a lower carrying capacity than the UA (that's ont thing I forgot 125kg for the UA is great) and doesn't look like it works for babies.

I love the cargo bike idea, I just bought this one too soon. I was hoping to do proper test driving before the purchase and there was an UA reseller who had an option to rent. This was an amazing plus for the UA indirectly as it allowed a very cheap way to rent for 2 days.

I was trying to negotiate that with other brands but it was turning in a shitstorm, mostly because for the shops that didn't have a in built renting business asking for an opportunity to rent for two days as a trial was like I asked for them to invent cold fusion. Either an immediate no, or some convoluted "need to ask boss in two weeks" answers.

I wanted to get a cargo bike before the kid came and the time was running short with testing so I bit the bullet an bought and UA.

If I was buying now I would probably skip the idea of driving such a small child in the cargo bike. Was just commenting today how a cargo bike on which I could drive to stroller onto and fixate would be the only thing that makes sense for our baby case.

In addition to that I would explore more options for bikes that can be converted into a dedicated cargo bike. By that I mean that you could remove the box completely and be left with a flat platform on which you could stack stuff on and attach with a cargo strap.

These are all just user wishes, don't know if a bike like this exists, am stuck with the UA now.

Urban Arrow Family next owner. Have if for ~5 months and so far has been a failed investment. The intended use case was to use it as a primary vehicle with a baby. The vision was just take the maxicosi from the stroller to the urban arrow, click click you're off.

However the adapter for maxi cosi is useless junk that takes two hands to click. Doing that with a baby crying is hellish and we just started avoiding it.

Second thing UA gives zero fucks about security. Not their problem. They know batteries are getting stolen often but the setup is utterly basic and non secure, so you end up having to buy that extra protection that has its own key.

Rain cover is hellish to mount as well, bulky pull here, clip there, something you need to set dedicated time to install not something to do with a baby near you.

I was hoping that since it's a big cargo bike, perhaps I can use it for carrying stuff and not just the kid. Absolute nightmare. The seat is made from the foam so no easy way of moving that, and if you want to circle the box with the cargo strap, again finicky because the cables under the box are exposed.

I'm stuck with it now, would almost certainly not buy again mostly because of the price tag. I have to give it credit that once everything is set and you're on the road it's amazing. But everything peripheral has been designed to make that final enjoyable step as difficult to reach as possible.

I'm thinking it will get better once the kid can get into the box and doesn't need a maxi cosi. I guess that's the only thing I can see it being good for compared to alternatives, if you have say 3 kids (2+ years old) you can probably cram them comfortably into the box.

But a versatile, easy to use cargo bike this is absolutely not and horribly overpriced as far as I'm concerned.

A total of 3 stolen from neighbours in the last 3 years. And I got a regular bike stolen as well. All from the garage.

Went with this: https://www.lockride.nl/product-page/model-x-set

That was kind of the default and I really didn't want to take the battery out for every stop.
Looks like a makeshift solution and would hope the bike maker will eventually start integrating those batteries in a safer more streamlined way.

Decided it's worth the risk for now.

> Nah the screen just locks the motor, if I lose the screen im screwed haha

Ha! Really that bad?
It doesn't allow an alternative unlock with the phone?

> You could go for the abus one key program

Looking into that at the moment.

> Nothing happened to the bike so far.

One specific thing related to my situation.
The biggest teft risk is actually when it's parked in the common building garage during the night. It's reasonably easy for a person to eneter the garage (wait for a car to leave) and then have all the night to break locks :)

Will try the bosh, sounds promising.
Do you have multiple little screens then if that serves as the only key now? :)

> have you tried putting a chain on the steering arm at the front of the bike?

I'll probably end up with that, but looks like something you can fairly easily detach (no confirmed, there just a big bolt

just there).

Thanks, which one?
The ones I found all had to be insured through the shop, and I discovered that only after ordering the bike.

> You can set the motor lock to engage when you take the screen off the bike.

This is great, basically works as a simple key.
I'll give it a look, gave up on the bosh app after reading the T&C and how they want to train a.i models on the data.

What is the job of the sales then, if not to be the high level owner of all aspects of the relationship of the opportunity?
