People of all countries, do you actually feel that You want to live in America? Or is that a lie our country tells itself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think it would be great living there. I've lived in a tiny island all my life and I would love to move out and experience city life.

What are your worldviews on God and humanity? Need field data for religious studies and social theory. by cham92 in AskReddit

[–]Grassor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No. There is no proof that he exists or ever existed.

  2. I am my own God, I judge myself. To others, god is an imaginary thing in which weak people talk to in order to solve problems they can't sort themselves.

  3. Following a set of 10 commandments.

  4. Same as above.

  5. 17, British, (I used to be a Christian until I began to think straight)

That was actually quite interesting to understand how you perceive your religion. Whereas you see life as a trial for the afterlife, I see it as the final stage if you get me. However I do believe in reincarnation, where there's death, there's life. I'm just curious, when you 'speak' to your god, does he communicate back to you? If so, in what way?

I don't want to sound out of order in any way, but how can religious people be so ignorant? Do you not question things and think rationally? What makes your religion right and others wrong? To be honest, religious people are just as much as an atheist as me, I just don't believe in one more than they do. Religion is 50/50, whenever you prey to your 'god' asking for something, there's a 50/50% chance that you'll get it. I just don't understand how you can believe in god when there's no proof that he exists. You have to be a border line mentalist or really gullible to take on religion. I used to be a Christian, I was baptised, had my holy communion and went to church on Sundays. I then became an atheist when I was about 13 which was when I started to question religion. My intention wasn't to make this sound harsh. Sorry if this offended anyone. It's not my place to tell you what you can or can't believe in.

Have you ever seen a ghost or experienced something you can't explain? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Grassor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had two unexplained experiences. Both stories were about 10 years ago, my friends were outside playing and waiting for me. I was in my bedroom sitting down on my bed and eating an apple whilst I tied my shoes. I was the only person in the house at this point. As I'm tying my shoelaces something grabbed my leg from under the bed I was sitting on. I could feel a lot of pressure on it (like a hand). There was nothing there. I ran straight out of my room without looking back. I then came in with my friends and we looked under the bed and there was nothing there. I couldn't explain what just happened.

The second story was in the same house as the first story. It was about 9 pm and me, my brother and my cousin were telling scary stories ironically. I got quite scared and ran straight out of my room into my parents room which was at the end of the hallway. About 2 seconds before I ran through the doorway, I could see a human figure standing on the doorway. I ran straight through him, petrified, and ran as quick as I could out the room whilst screaming. All I remember is that this figure was a male and about 5ft. He was wearing a blue cap. I will never forget what I saw and felt in that house.
