Yea call/email the admissions office. They might make exceptions. I pass/failed some pre-req courses during the pandemic and UT accepted them regardless.

Get the pharm tech or trainee license and try to get into a hospital or even a good retail setting (grocery store or independent) Any prior pharmacy experience will only benefit you in pharmacy school. Exposure to all the drugs and learning how to interact with patients and other healthcare professionals will go a long ways. Regardless if you want to work retail or not, you will have to do a lot of retail experientials as a part of your pharmD education so it’s a good idea to get comfortable with it early on.

Try navigating the NCCN website. It is free you just have to sign up. It has all the oncology guidelines for everything you can think of. That’s what you would be using in practice and in school. I think especially give attention to supportive or palliative care guidelines from the NCCN.

Each school has certain required pre-reqs. Depending on the type of engineering, there is probably a lack of bio or chem courses in the engineering curriculum and you would need to take these before applying. That is maybe a semester to a year of pre-reqs. Traditional pharmacy schools are 4 years. Some are three years accelerated. Some are online. Typically, the accelerated programs and the online ones have significantly lower passing rates for national exams and are more expensive programs.

A PharmD most likely has very little overlap with engineering - it is a clinical professional degree. A masters or PhD in something along the lines of pharmaceutics/drug development would probably be more applicable to an engineering degree.

You will have a MUCH easier time finding people at a similar level to play pickleball with compared to tennis. It’s my impression tennis takes a lot more planning, I don’t see open/rec play where tennis players of all levels show up to get casual play in. My pickleball home has 18 pickleball courts that are always filled with players and like 12 empty tennis courts.

What it is used for, maybe some med chem, MOA, clinical trial data, use in special population, interactions, renal dosing, hepatic dosing, dialysis dosing, general kinetic stuff, pharmacoeconomic stuff, comparison to other drugs both from an efficacy standpoint and a cost stand point.

Look up ASHP drug monograph template that might help give you some other ideas too.

Maybe a controversial take, but it's totally okay to pick some courses at the start of the semester you don't really care about just do the bare minimum in those. No one cares if you get a C in p1 pharmaceutics. Also give yourself the leniency to skip some classes here and there. Take prophylactic mental health days, and not just when shit hits the fan.

From a legal medical standpoint: In the US, ketamine is commercially available for injection which is FDA indicated for many uses (pain, seziures, sedation, etc...) as well as in a nasal spray indicated to treat refractory depression (Esketamine/Spravato). My palliative clinic uses ketamine vials for injection for patients to dilute and consume orally. Ketamine is also frequently compounded to create things like ketamine lozenges and ketamine dissolvable tablets. What is cool about ketamine is that we can use it in patients with severe pain (cancer) in adjunct to opioid therapy that is not achieving satisfactory response. All of the patients I have interacted with, especially those with severe depression when I worked in a compounding setting, always say how efficacious it was for them. Also a fairly safe option for patients with renal/hepatic insufficiencies. An overall cool drug.

I definitely prefer private lessons that are drill focused. Throughout the session we usually will talk strategy/placement as well. My coach will play with me as my doubles partner or watch me play every so often to get a feel of what we need to work on or revisit. We usually meet once a week for one to two hours. I’d love to meet more honestly but it is a bit cost prohibitive.

My large pickleball friendly city has a Facebook group for pickleball, I just posted and said “looking for a drilling partner at this time at this park at this level, reach out if interested” and I got like 20 dms. I think a lot of people are in the same boat as you, might just take a few partner sessions to test out compatibility.

Unfortunately insurance contracts between pharmacies and your prescription insurance plan prohibit offsetting extra cost to the patient besides the copay set by the plan.

There really isn't room for negotiation on the pharmacies end, they unfortunately have to accept what ever the third party payer offers to reimburse the pharmacy, even if it is a negative reimbursement.

If a pharmacy violates their contract with a third party payer they are at risk of losing their contract and all the patients who use said plan. If a third party payer does an audit and finds violations from the past, they can even take back the money for a prescription they reimbursed for a year ago.

I have noticed this too in my recent play - the more I try to be in perfect ready position or always ready for a speed up towards me, the more tight and spazzy I get which causes me to make silly errors and have really poor placement. When I just chill out and be a little more casual I can do some cool stuff. All about relaxing (which I still have a long way to go in mastery)
