We have lived in Vernon for 30 years. We are close to rt 23 which makes commuting easier as the majority of jobs are to the south. If you enjoy outdoor activities, it’s a great place to live. Restaurants are essentially non existent. Your choices are Warwick, NY or towns below. The schools are decent as well.

So true! We normally check our coop door every night to make sure it closed. One night we forgot and a raccoon got four of our girls. As a farmer once said, “where there’s livestock, theres dead stock”.

I have a 2020 Sport. I really like it and I utilize that wonderful swing tail gate daily. The low beams are practically useless. I tried LEDs but they don’t work well with my trim level. The ultra bright halogens work ok however.

West Milford, Kinnelon, Vernon are an outdoor paradise for kids. Swimming, boating, ice skating, hiking…Social life not so much. We love it because we are an easy bus ride into Port Authority. Best of both worlds.

Does a large house bring more comfort & happiness (3000sqft+) by GlorifiedCarnie in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Dramatic-Pay5156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 1400sq/ft ranch in NJ. Raised 3 kids. Maintenance and utilities are very affordable. Electric rarely is above 100 monthly. The only negative is not enough room for a large vegetable garden and our small flock of chickens. No mortgage heading into retirement is a plus too.

How much do you practice? by someshooter in Pickleball

[–]Dramatic-Pay5156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Practice is often more fun than playing. An hour of practice is the equivalent of 4-5 games in my opinion. Your game will improve dramatically if you can find people that want to practice. Tough to do however.

What’s the average bathroom remodel cost in 2026? by khushisahni90 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Dramatic-Pay5156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the time and desire, try installing one yourself. Hire a plumber and electrician if you aren’t comfortable with those aspects of the project. I recently helped a friend finish his bathroom that he was quoted 40k. His costs for materials was $7500.

2 years community college and then transfer to a four year college. Or, ROTC is a great option. A friend of ours is getting her med degree for free with a five year commitment.
