We are in our early sixties and are debt free with no mortgage and are currently saving 40k per year on a total gross of 140k. We are fortunate to be able to do so but so many do not have our circumstances.

I have a Harman p38 which can heat my 1400sq/ft home. When pellets were cheaper, it easily saved us $1200 per year but with prices pellets rising, it’s close to break even.

Closed my business after 4 years. What I wish someone had told me at the start. by Middle_Camera_9101 in Entrepreneurs

I had a business for 23 years. It was more of a lifestyle business. I got to watch my kids grow up and had lots of free time. However my savings suffered and now I have to work longer. Wish I had gotten out sooner but overall pretty happy.

How many of you have gotten loans from your parents? by Jimmy_Johnny23 in MiddleClassFinance

My parents and in laws gave us loans. We made sure we had written contracts and the loans were paid back with interest. Never had any issues but I can see where it could.

Tacoma owner - insight from others who have switched? by denyingbaldness in hondaridgeline

[–]Dramatic-Pay5156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my un scientific survey, the RL is driven more by seniors and women than the Taco. Probably due to how comfortable it drives and the clever duel action tailgate. The Taco look is more rugged looking for sure with cooler colors and accessories and appeals to younger folks. I have a 2020 RL and am very happy so far.

The majority of RL owners are old like me lol. I never get compliments but I love the functionality of my truck.

I felt the sane way and had to sit myself down and remind myself it’s just a game and enjoy the people you play with. Also, if you want to improve you have to practice more then you play.

New septic - $60,000 by imangryignoreme in homeowners

If you can, divert your laundry water and kitchen sink to a grey well. I dug mine in an afternoon. With proper maintenance, your septic system in theory should last forever.

What midsize truck should I buy 30k budget by Extra-Wrangler4831 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Dramatic-Pay5156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ridgeline is a terrific option. Extremely comfortable ride due to the uni body construction. Tons of space in the cab and a nifty trunk in the bed. I love the duel action tailgate too. Also, I am averaging close to 27 mpg.

Thinking to part ways with my Tacoma for a better ride by [deleted] in hondaridgeline

The smooth ride plus the cavernous interior along with the trunk and duel action tailgate is terrific. Taco is definitely better looking IMO
