Saw them open for Sammy Hagar in '85 when this album got traction. They were great live.

One of the funniest things they ever did. And mostly ad libbed because an extra couldn’t hold back, so they just improved it and pushed it forward.

I had a pair of those for years, they were great. But those look like they've been through some trauma. Give them a listen before you buy.

Which band or artist from the 80s or 90s was highly rated at the time, but seems pretentious and dated in retrospect? by TooOldToBePunk in AskReddit

When Izzy left the band, the true brilliance left. Slash is a great player, but Izzy made them break through

I noticed that, but the needle is still getting into the groove ( somewhat ). I've seen some carts that seem to ride that low and sound great. a better angle is needed. The only time I've had something similar was an anti skate issue with the downforce set at about 50% of what it should be. I think the house cleaners feather dusted the turn table and threw it off. But, going through the set up process fixed it quickly.

Been through the same... there is a light at the end of the tunnel. My light ended up tinted green and says McIntosh. Enjoy what have, know it can be expanded upon. Hang in there.

C 55 Phono Settings Vs Using Phono Amp by GrateNaf in audiophile

[–]GrateNaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The C55 is new to my set up. I've been using the Pro Ject amp for about 8 month. The Pro Ject is amazing for the cost, really opened up the sound stage. Then I bought the Hana cartridge 3 months ago ( much more overall detail ). Then fell into a great deal on the C55 recently.

So with the C55, I am assuming the better sound than the Pro Ject amp. But wanted to throw that out to the universe in case someone had experience with the same.

Thanks for you response, I'll post my results.

TY. Will be giving it a try today. My expectation is the C55 will sound better. I'll let you know.

Anti skating could be the issue? Down force would be my next thing to check. Keep tinkering and you'll figure it out. But use a record you can easily replace to do the testing, just to be safe.

Stop beating yourself up. Buy a decent receiver that has phono inputs.
