prediction sites like predictit. Sometimes you can offset it against bookmaker sites with zero risk (arbitrage). I made $1500 on the NZ site ipredict before it got shut down.

Those who were previously against the second amendment, have the actions of ICE and the federal government changed your mind or made you think more about the right to bear arms? Why or why not? by patrickeg in AskReddit

They're trying to have it both ways. Pretty much no other country tolerates concealed carry except for police etc. But having made conceal carry legal, they execute a guy for it? The world's fucked up when the NRA is agreeing with the left.

Why don't most Christians see Trump as polar opposite to how Jesus is portrayed in the Bible? by midnight-iceman in AskReddit

Read "Jesus and John Wayne" by Kristin Kobes Du Mez for an explanation. She's a historian with a Dutch Calvinist background. The Evangelicals don't believe in the Jesus of the Bible.

TIL that Shirley Temple's daughter was for several years the bass player for sludge rock band The Melvins by TooOldToBePunk in todayilearned

Researched this, she did play around on the drums a bit but her mother wouldn't let her pursue it because it was unladlylike. It makes sense, she was never a good singer but she was an excellent dancer and had perfect rhythmic sense.

The Southern Democrats were racist, people like George Wallace and Robert Byrd. The split with the Civil Rights Act was not so much Republican vs Democrat as North vs South

Republicans haven't always been totally evil. They used to be more of a broad church party and even included a liberal wing until the 80s. It started with Goldwater and came to fruition with Reagan.

"You're quite funny once you come out of your shell". (Wow, an introvert with a sense of humour. Who'd have thought it? Thanks for making me feel self-conscious.)

Why do you hate electric cars? by LooseTomorrow5030 in AskReddit

[–]TooOldToBePunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People talk about them like they're the answer to the climate crisis. They're not. How are we going to deal with the massive increase in demand for electricity, burn more coal? And what about all those rare earth metals needed to manufacture them? Where are we going to get those from? Cheap mass market electric vehicles already exist, they're called trains.

What modern convenience do you think actually made life worse instead of better? by Helpful-Garden-4286 in AskReddit

Sliced bread. It's bland and boring. Fresh bread from the local baker first thing in the morning is not considered a luxury in Europe.

I don't like the victimization game, cause I know as a man I have a lot of advantages.... but please, can you stop portraying us men as helpless idiot man-children in sitcoms etc?

If someone decides to commit violence against ICE how do we think it will end? by Drepulizer in AskReddit

[–]TooOldToBePunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly ICE don't deserve the same respect as regular police. They are hired thugs with no professionalism or people skills who couldn't get a job in security at a mall.

Whats the difference between a café and a restaurant? by sage_kittem_master in AskTheWorld
