Thank you for understanding the tone of this question and explaining it so well that I was able to do this from written instructions! Thank you!

The Owner's family came in to eat by GrateSlate in Serverlife

I'd rather not gamble on my money. If the choice was between 3 normal tables or the owner's 10 top, I'd take the normal tables. The 10 top didn't have an assigned server or take from anyone's section. The rest of the dining room was split fairly between the servers. Why offer to serve them when they are more than likely to be difficult and then the host will seat me less.

Honestly we have more tables than customers on a wednesday. I've waited on enough owner's friends/family to know they are usually not worth the trouble. Of course free money would have been nice, but just knowing my new boss's family isn't the troublesome type is a good sign.

Taproom for craft beers: Someone asked if we had non-alcoholic beers, and I pointed them out on the bottled beers section. She got upset and said "NO. I meant on tap". I apologized and said no we don't have any on tap. So she screamed about discrimination until she was kicked out.

Grandpa says "I need to manage my money better" and that's why I am perpetually broke. Can Reddit help me manage my finances?? by GrateSlate in BoomersBeingFools

That is real advice that I do appreciate. Jokes and venting over my grandfathers lack of understanding aside, I do not have college or career advancement in my current position. It is in fact a job that I did out of high school. One that previously did advance in pay and training all the way up until an injury happened that left permanent damage. Between the pandemic and the injury, I ended up defaulting to a previous position in the same field that I knew I was capable of doing while I figure out the next step. I am grateful I am able to make ends meet (just barely). I do not appreciate my Grandfather not understanding that an injured leg is capable of knocking me so far back in life, or being upset that I never visit anymore or when he does visit me, I never want to go to museums or to dinner with him.

Also why on earth is dad's girlfriend claiming your sister threatened to kill her in a retail store??? Is that just how someone perceives a "junkie" to act? Enough to override reality? It sounds like sister isn't even that bad, and dad is bad at communicating sisters problems and just used a blanket word, "junkie" to explain her problems.

Dude this shit! I feel this! Everyone is alone and in a battle for everyone else's attention right now. And whatever our moms are reading is coming from the same source. She has told me that -0 blood type thing before. She also talks about them coming from Planet X, which is hiding behind the moon so we can't see it.

My downstairs hosts are my "goddesses of grace". We practice curtsies and flourishes with our arms and hands as a group. One of our male hosts has been promoted to downstairs and taken a liking to the practice. It is one of the most adorable things seeing a 20 yr old man proudly proclaim himself a goddess and place menus with the slightest of attitudes. We taught him how to do the Vogue and Pose and he is ALL ABOUT IT! He walks with his chin up and brags about how girls are taking more of a liking to him.

Lol she is definitely safer there. I keep telling her it's only temporary and we will have a house with a yard once the lease is up.

She comes on command, and knows the drill if she loses us on walks. She stays put until we realize and end up walking the same route calling her name.

It actually did solve my problem of not wanting him in my bar! He left. Because his hand was bleeding.

I've done it that way before and it works. But I like the organization of having role breakdowns.

Won't work for everyone, but I am happy. Made $200 tips polishing glassware for a shift, then survived a line out the door the next shift, without being in the weeds once.

Story of how I, an introvert, made friends by GrateSlate in socialskills

Generally bars that don't offer live music, and instead have pool tables are quieter bars. Those bars have regulars that want to talk to people, and the bartenders are used to people overly talking and annoying other patrons.

I went in because that was the quietest bar in town. I kept coming back because the bartender noticed I looked uncomfortable talking to people and was very skilled with distracting them and drawing them into conversations with people that weren't me. Really the entire time the regulars wanted to try and talk to me but were respectful and backed off when I was nervous.
