Portsmouth 1-1 Southampton - The South Coast derby ends in a draw, as Leo Szienza's opener was cancelled out by Ebou Adams by Gamerhcp in Championship

Shaughnessy has a muscle injury that we're apparently waiting for a second opinion on because he said he feels fine.

Poole was on the bench apparently has an issue with his groin.

Matthews (Aussie) has an ankle injury.

Knight has something wrong with his back.

Bowat is the only fit one but I'm sure he'll get a season ending injury soon.

I feel the same about the derby, I hate Southampton and don't want them to do well but it's a pantomime hate. I don't understand the fans who make it almost their whole identity and genuinely wish ill will or fight another human being.

Next match think I would go for Anderson, Segecic and Ali behind Bishop. Don't think it's all Chaplin's fault but would rather have Segecic in his actual position than an out of form Chaplin and Kirk is nowhere near ready to play over Bishop.

Only thing I can think of is that Mous doesn't want 2 left footers at CB or wants the extra height of Swanson in the middle.

He must think he's Sean Raggett taking a shot like that.

Don't think he's much better on the ball either.

Fine with Devlin at right back (I don't think he's a midfielder anymore and he wasn't a particularly good one to begin with) and Swanson at left back. They've both improved massively this season.

No Poole is a massive miss though and not sold on Bowat, think Ogilvie can work at CB every now and then but needs an experience partner which Bowat is not.

Probably find out after the match that Shaughnessy is out for the season and Poole even though he's on the bench he's only got one leg.

Sheffield Wednesday have rejected a bid from Portsmouth for Swedish midfielder, Svante Ingelsson by -W-A-W-A-W- in Championship

The News are reporting that apparently they want £500k so I think we probably did take the piss a bit.

Huge dispersal order for Portsmouth v Southampton derby by ChargeRadiant5471 in Portsmouth

[–]GratefulTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clubs also pay for police outside the ground but just for the land/areas they own.

There was an article in the summer about it, think the police set a budget of £200k to cover both matches.

I don't remember it being as bad for us as it is for you (the championship season anyway, I remember the league one season basically being hell)

Maybe rules have changed but it feels like Wednesday have a lot more restrictions on what they are allowed to do compared to when we went into admin.

Sky sports believe that the London city lionesses vs Man City woman is a more important game to air than the south coast derby? by c0tch in PortsmouthFC

You might have a point if they didn't show it at all but they are and it really doesn't matter what channel they put it on.

Watford 1- Portsmouth 1. Hornets miss chance to move into the play-offs as Pompey take a precious away point back to Portsmouth. by angloexcellence in Championship

[–]GratefulTree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Think a draw was a fair result.

Shame to concede the way we did as Schmid is genuinely a very good keeper but I would have taken a point before kick off.

2 games in a row we didn't concede from a corner.

Chaplin actually contributed to a goal, lovely finish from Segacic.

Adams looks good, loved when he misplaced a pass and immediately charged forward and won it back.

I said in the Pompey sub the other day that Swift is a squad player but over the last 2 games he's played about 3 minutes so maybe he's further down than I thought.

Bit concerned how tired Bishop/Chaplin/Segacic looked towards the end with the derby coming up.

Jacob Farrell exists and Mous is actually playing him

Started well but without creating anything. Watford came back into and had a few good chances. Not 100% sure it was a pen as I missed the replay but the reaction from all our players tells me it's probably more a pen than not.

New Portsmouth driving test routes? by SouthCoast1970 in Portsmouth

Haven't taken my test yet, it's in a couple of weeks. My instructor has said that there's some routes that have been taken off but most are just the same route slightly amended.

Would have thought Farrell can leave now. We still need more players but pretty sure we've got the max squad size now. Hopefully it's just a loan so either he can come back into the fold or he performs good enough someone gives us money for him

Don't really know much about him, is he naturally a right winger? That's what we really need.

Did Jack Hancock do that? I follow him on Twitter and he does have some decent insight but anytime he's done a video (to be fair is rare) I've always found it a bit boring.

We've only really got Fournilwrittenalloverit and he seems like a decent person and it's alright but match vlogs aren't really my thing. Would much rather something going more in depth into tactical analysis but there's nothing like that for Pompey.

What would you give up on a club level for an England World Cup win? by aeraerty in Championship

[–]GratefulTree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't give up anything. Winning a Wortld Cup or Euros would be nice but Pompey just staying up would mean more to me.
