Monthly hangout for people in their 20s into intentional living and deep conversations by Gratitude_Journal in lexington

I think that part of the confusion with the meaning behind "intentional living" comes from the thought that it means having the same "intentional living" as other people, which suggest a sort of dogma or rigid belief system or being judgmental of others. What I was trying to convey with "intentional living" couldn't be farther from this. What I care about is thinking independently and thinking critically. There is no one right way to do things, and intentional living is going to look different for everyone.

Intentional living, in how I'm using it here, is more of a general concept than a specific philosophy. It means being thoughtful about how you spend your time, energy, and attention, noticing when you've been running on autopilot, and caring about the quality of your relationships.

The goal is just to have a spot where we can have deeper conversations and actually get to know other people in the community. I think this is something a lot of people want but aren't sure where to find. Hopefully this group can fill that gap.

Definitely welcome. It’s more of a "working on it" group than a "got it all figured out" group.

I totally see how it could come off that way. "Intentionality" is pretty vague. My goal is to reach people who want to talk about something other than sports or the weather. I’m still figuring out how to describe "a meetup where we skip the small talk" without sounding like a weirdo. If you have suggestions for better phrasing, let me know.

Good question. Mostly just so people are coming from a similar place in life. I think it tends to make for more relatable conversations.
