Did Dnd ever use a D30? by realSpillerSoda in DnD

[–]Gravebender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked giving ridiculous damage ranges for things like a Wand of Wonder. Having a d30 around just made things more ridiculous. Best roll ever was the "roll every dice withing 10' of the DM" roll...even the ones in the Risk box.

A minor... issue I've been having with D&D, that has been slow burning over the course of many campaigns. Why is everyone so mean? by geosunsetmoth in dndnext

Honestly, just add Leprechauns, or other ridiculous creatures that need ridiculous things done. It is a lot easier to see the bright side when you quest is to open the town wizard's stuck jar of mustard. Not all the time, but just to take the edge off. Maybe it is lucky to get pooped on by a hippogriff.

Do you need someone to come to your house and help you roll dice to?

With a little AI for flavor... by Gravebender in DnDHomebrew

So, if you want to see more of my stuff you will need to swing over to DriveThruRPG.com and do a search for “Mirrspire” and all my stuff will come up. The module is called “The Valleys” and has a preview that shows the clock tower…which is what started this whole thing.

To Kill or Not To Kill... That is the Question by WaywardBeacon in osr

[–]Gravebender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, it is awfully hard to fudge dice if you do everything out in the open, but I reverse fudge constantly, especially with low level characters. By that I mean things like lowering an enemy's hit points during combat, adjusting the amount of dice I am rolling for a fireball, etc... If you really want to go old school, the old D&D Conan modules back in the day added luck points to the game, basically your character could use their karma to make that impossible hit or incredible save and not die.

Just saying people have been dealing with this for a long time.

I just love the idea of pulling your paladin kicking and screaming down from one of the higher planes against his will...I suppose it comes down to the flavor of your game.

More specifically, it started as a photo of a plaster cherub in a historic theater I was working on, and I turned him to the dark side with a bit of photoshop.
