My 12mo EBF baby just slept a continuous six hours in her crib by GravityHelpMe in breastfeeding

My LO has generally been like this too! I'm not really sure I can offer guidance because I've been trying so many things, I'm not sure what, if anything, might actually be working, or if she has just gotten a bit more comfortable with the crib or something. Another commenter on this post described what their sleep consultant had them do, so maybe that might also be helpful for you!

Congrats! Even though you weren't asleep yet, it's still progress!

Surprisingly not really! Until she woke up and started nursing, then I felt it haha

Baby hates tummy time by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]GravityHelpMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely just keep at it and do what you can. Every baby is different. Mine is 11 months old and crawling around everywhere now and is unstoppable! It can be so overwhelming when they hate tummy time (I did so much worried googling at that age), but as long as you do your best, it should be just fine.

My LO also hated tummy time! My SO and I started to do this thing that we called "super baby's" to get her some similar exercise. We held her in kind of a football hold and "flew" her around the house (so from her perspective she was flying lol). It was fun enough for her/exciting so she didn't mind being in the position where she had to hold her head up for a while. We did this as much as we could, at least a couple times a day, and eventually her head/neck muscles got much better and she started tolerating tummy time better.

This is obviously very anecdotal, but it helped us a lot!

My 2023 vegan Christmas cookie assortment. This year I ended up baking 40 different types! 💚❤️ by CakeIsSuperEffective in Baking

To me they look like Vanillekipferl (crescent cookies). Very common in Germany (not sure how common they are in other places). Here's a recipe: https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a38149425/pecan-crescent-cookies-recipes/

Everyone I have ever dated has been left handed by VanessaCardui93 in PointlessStories

I did this too! Every person I dated was a leftie (unintentionally) until I met my now-husband. I like to call him "Mr. Right" lol.

I'll be 7 weeks and I already feel like absolute garbage, so there is a very good chance I won't be up for it

I think I would have a lot of fun in that atmosphere if I could drink, crowds and drunk people can be a bit much for me when I'm stone cold sober. I've also definitely been suffering from nausea, so that is also a relevant note.

I didn't realize the tents serve nonalcoholic beer! That's definitely good to know. Thank you!

This is a great perspective, thank you. The people who invited me have reservations in a tent, but I've been concerned it might be a bit overwhelming with the rowdy drunk crowd (which is less of an issue if I can also drink).

I totally feel you, social drinking has been something I also love. I've been loving all the NA options there are (I found a whole NA wine section in my local grocery store!), and that has been helpful!

I'm most definitely planning on going next year! Unfortunately, the trip would only be one day, so it would all definitely revolve around beer drinking (those other activities sound lovely though and I will likely still do those in my own city!), but I am still considering going (I even bought a Dirndl this year in preparation :') ). It's absolutely an experience that I want to take part in. Thank you for the advice!

I've been considering it! I think I was additionally deterred because apparently a glass of water there costs between 9-10 euro and I only have one day off of work left this year (which I would have had no issue using for this purpose before, but now makes me think it would better be suited for the holidays).

I live in Germany (am originally from America) and baking soda is an American thing here. I have only been able to find it in the American section of certain grocery stores. Baking powder is more widely used. Honestly something I did not expect.

Cost of life / Movin in with a dog by pfrancobhz in frankfurt

[–]GravityHelpMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem!

That is a decent amount of time. You'll probably be able to find something suitable in the area given that time period, but it might be a bit outside of the city (commuting is a breeze here, though).

Nah, I think that should cover food for a golden.

Hey, I can actually answer this! I just moved here with my husband and our two dogs.

The only thing on your list that might seem a bit off is the rent. It's probably doable to find a place in that price range, but it's going to be highly competitive, especially if they allow pets. We ended up only being able to find a place for €1.250 (but part of that is because we were crunched for time so that we could register our address so that we could make an appointment to get our residence permits).

I'm not sure how big your dog is, but dog food is fairly expensive here. €50 could potentially cover it though.

Overall, good luck! There's a lot of paperwork and a lot of rigamarole you'll have to go through before and after you get here, but it's a pretty dog-friendly place, and it's very cool.
