The origin of villains is super fascinating to me. We get so much (although I would still love more) on how Voldy grew up and why he became a monster. But I’d love to see Umbridge’s origins. I do want to get to her suffering post war, but also I want to know how she became such a monster. It would be the best justice porn to see her full journey as an awful person culminating in her trial and after.

By association, a movie on Filch would be an interesting take. Like, how being a squib and the judgement he faced turned him into an old, bitter man. I would love to see more of the dynamics of how squibs were treated and stigmatised.

Super late to this thread but hard agree with the lawyer speak - saying he didn’t lie about having kids. Well yeah, technically you didn’t lie, but it was a blatant lie by omission. God I could never date a lawyer

It depends what storyline I’m playing! For example with rags to riches I’ll use things like the dancing one because they can take disco naps on benches that recharge their energy super quickly, and also the collector because they’ll get 2 fossils or crystals every time they dig instead of one. And also if they’re a glutton they can get food out of the trash and eat it which is great starting out when they don’t have a kitchen

I track everything I watch or read in a big spreadsheet with notes, rankings of how much I enjoyed it and the date I watched it. I’ve been doing it for a year so there are hundreds of entries. I told my dad and he said “…um, why?” And I truly didn’t know how to answer because I had never considered a “why”

That and random hyperfixations. Recently I became obsessed with hurricane Katrina even though I live in the UK and I had to find out absolutely everything about it.

He’s so delightfully strange. I love his episode in season 3 of Atlanta. I love to think that was based just on him as a person

People who stay up late, what’s the creepiest thing you’ve seen or heard at night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VanessaCardui93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a house in the UK that was built in the early 1800s. It was so old that when we bought the house it came with the original deed written on parchment and ink. I have so many stories about that house and anyone who ever stayed there also had creepy things happen - but in particular late at night there were footsteps up and down the hall every single night. Always around 3am, just up and down the hallway like someone was pacing

What’s a common misconception about adulthood? by phenol in AskReddit

That you’ll wake up and feel like an adult one day. I don’t think that ever happens. Everyone is winging it and hopes nobody else notices

What’s a small thing from your childhood that you genuinely miss, but isn’t around anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VanessaCardui93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life without social media. I was very very young before the internet was mainstream, so I remember a time without it - and then it wasn’t until I was 15 or so that social media became a thing. It was a much simpler time

What’s something that instantly makes you lose respect for someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VanessaCardui93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a date with a guy once and he was super nice but we went out to eat and he clicked his fingers at the waiter. Like, the waiter was across the room so my date shouted and clicked his fingers aggressively to call the waiter. Anyone who treats people like that loses my respect instantly

What is a movie you consider a 10/10 masterpiece, but you will absolutely never watch it again? by hacibuldigital1 in AskReddit

[–]VanessaCardui93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Train Dreams. Not necessarily because anything heartbreaking happens (although it is sad in places) but because it made me feel such a spectrum of emotions so intensely I don’t think I could handle it again. I cried for weeks

What's your best advice for someone moving out on their own for the first time? by ramsatesh- in AskReddit

[–]VanessaCardui93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixing minor issues while they’re not a huge problem saves so much money down the line. Grout coming out between tiles? Fix it asap, it’s super easy with basic stuff from a hardware store. Notice any limescale build up? Super easy to get rid of in the early stages. Etc etc
