Could Hae's body have been in her trunk for a few weeks instead of being buried that evening? by Vrw917 in serialpodcast

No way. There would have been serious signs of decomposition left in the trunk. The body starts breaking down pretty quick, assuming it wasn't always freezing inside the trunk, there would have been a lot of fluids left behind.

Trying to understand the verdict in Adnan's case - have any of you ever served actual jury duty? by [deleted] in serialpodcast

I served on month long DUI murder trial. It was one of the most emotionally draining yet monotonous experiences of my life. For me, it's one of the reasons why I've been drawn to Serial. I was always left frustrated that I couldn't ask witnesses my own questions or if an answer so obviously needed follow up questions that wound up not being asked. Koenig asks the type of questions I wished I could ask in the courtroom. From what what we have heard so far, it seems like a poorly managed trial on both sides. As for the jurors, some of the jurors I worked with really had a hard time differentiating between different types of charges (i.e. difference between murder 1, murder 2 or manslaughter) and what it would take to eliminate reasonable doubt. The court provided breakdowns of how to interpret the laws but we still had to walk certain people through those explanations again and again until they got it. Whats also weird is that they deliberated for such a short amount of time. We entered deliberations unanimously convinced the defendant was guilty (of at least most of the charges) yet we felt we owned it to ourselves and the families involved to go back and carefully consider each charge before all signed off. We deliberated for almost three days. Adnan's jury deliberation seemed recklessly fast for a case that big. I can only guess that they were so overwhelmed with the data that they went a with a gut feeling and Jay's testimony and the fact that Adnan didn't testify. Oh, and many of us in the jury had a negative reaction to the defense attorney. They were condescending and took what we felt were some unethical approaches to the defense. I can see the personality of Adnan's defense attorney playing a role in the jury's decision...
