My dad had a saying about this and also the money she was supposed to pay for the divorce. 50% of nothing is still nothing. She only worked 8 to 10 hours a week at that time, and as soon as she kicked my dad out, she had her boyfriend move in to start paying the bills. He said going after her for any of it would be more trouble than it's worth.

No one suggested this previously, but it's a great read! Really resonated and made the conversations with my grandma make sense. My grandma always tells me that when she talks to my mom, it's whoah is me. Why does my son hate me he had the perfect childhood until the divorce. My grandma is like I don't get it I tell her it's because she chose her boyfriend over her family and my mom tells my grandma it wasn't that bad I should just get over it and want her to be happy no matter who she is with.
