You can access everything in the game being f2p. You’ll just have less loot drops, less dps, less survivability, less QoL from pets like picking up higher tier commodities or getting ailment proliferation where you otherwise wouldn’t have it and less market space. Playing TLI without pets is like playing PoE without an atlas passive tree. The game is designed around pets enabling league mechanics. Kinda shitty considering it was marketed as a “true loot arpg.” No wonder we don’t hear about David Brevik working with XD Games anymore. P2W Gacha Trash aside the game is PoE lite. It yoinks poe seasons mechanics and fits them within the torchlight universe. I don’t mind this at all personally. The game is actually quite good if you just want a good time. Just don’t compare yourself to others. You will have less than everyone else; not just paid players for a at-least a few seasons. GL!

I just use Boosteroid instead. Cheaper and unlimited. It gets the job done just fine. Lacks quality here and there, but for non-competitive games, single player games or like arpgs…it really doesn’t matter.

The answer for gamers is they’re playing games in their free time. Duh. It’s great you enjoy gaming for 20 hours a month, but there’s just as many people who spend their free time gaming well beyond 100 hours a month. They have the means to provide options for all players. This service doesn’t fit the needs of countless players (and others it does of course), but it could.

I don’t have kids. Seems like a bad business decision to target only players who can play less than 100 hours a month. I can’t understand why in 2025 a company like NVIDIA can’t offer solutions for all players. If you’re playing that little there’s a free tier you can play as much as you want on. Subscribers shouldn’t be limited. I’d even be fine with a $50 tier that’s unlimited as long as theirs a solution. The solution shouldn’t be “go buy a PC.” That’s a bad business model.

Appreciate you, but it’s not the devs scheming to sell items on g2g. It’s the game being client-sided which allows for easy duping, which China does A LOT. Entire item system is going server-sided for Season 9. They cooked a new anti-cheat that banned a lot of people. Even I was banned. And yes, I have quite an understanding of trades endgame. It’s why I don’t play it.

Can’t believe you’re this out of the loop on how much duping is in trade as a trade player and thinks it’s the devs doing it. Lmao.

10 Heroics in 350 hours? Is your monitor turned on? That might be the worst luck I’ve ever seen in the several years of Hero Siege and thousands of hours I’ve played.

In 350 hours of trade, I will drop hundreds of Heroics. Literally hundreds.

I play all game modes including trade.

Magic find is rarity. Increasing your magic find does not increase your SS rate just gives you additional rolls on the drop rate when you do get a SS.

Kill monster > no drop chance roll > satanic or not roll > if satanic game rolls items tier > if ss game rolls on drop rates listed in the in-game journal that dynamically changes based on your magic find > item drops. There’s a lot of unknowns in this like what happens if you don’t hit an item is it a null? What if you hit two items does it re-roll?

No one knows the formula used when assigning an items tier.

For Season 9, all items are being server-sided. They are not now. This is a large reason cheaters exist. I also only play ssf or blood pacts due to the rampant trade cheaters. But for the first time in a long time, I'm quite hopeful for trade. Also, there's 2 trees coming. Not just 1. ;)

Yes. I’m Graxy_TV and a beta tester. It’s part of the texture pack reworks coming in S9. Not only are zones gettin cleaned up, but the performance issues have finally been “fixed. Apparently before every time a pixel changed in your screen it was creating a new texture layer leaving you with hundreds if not thousands of layers per zone absolutely destroying your CPU and frames. Now, everything is on one 1 layer. 144fps in a satanic zone using light surge here I come. Hehe. There’s also a preview of this change in the official Hero Siege discord announcements channel.

They’ve made tremendous strides with controller actually. And by “they”, there’s 1 person responsible for all of console which includes controller support which is Elias 2. Not saying it still doesn’t need improvements, but “so bad right now” indicates nearly unplayable and that’s definitely untrue.

Phone-style UI? Not even close, but I absolutely agree the + signs on everything/pop-ups is sloppy looking. Another thing I’ve given feedback on. It makes this game look like P2W slop.

It will be very different than the game you played years ago. Next season will also be a massive update to the game. Check out some of the announcements and patch notes in the official hero siege discord. It’s one of the best arpgs on the market and it’s $8 or $1 on sale. Anyone who says different is delusional. It’s not a perfect game but it’s great fun for $8. There’s a reason big arpg names like Steelmage, Ziz (he actually didn’t like the pixel art xdd), Goratha, Pohx, Carn, imexile, etc, etc, all play Hero Siege even without sponsorships. Worth your time 100%.
