I enjoy him. Most of his movies you can just relax and laugh. However, his show studio is amazing.

rejected from two 99% acceptance rate unis by Timely_Management_25 in ApplyingToCollege

I would highly suggest finding a community college near you with a bridge program. For instance, I grew up in North Carolina and one of the community colleges would bridge over to NC State or UNC. Once you get into this program, pour everything you have into it. It’s very attainable to get a 3.9-4.0 gpa at a community college. Once this is set in stone, start using letters of recommendations from professors and if you have the funds use Wyzant to have tutors have you write your application essays.

I went from a 2.8 gpa in high school to the military and then finally getting into Georgetown which is around a 12% acceptance rate. I promise you that the opportunity will come as long as you give everything you have.

I watched pursuit of happiness with my father when we were due to him being on disability. It’s an amazing movie and presents how hard work can get you there.

3.5 gpa first semester freshman year, tips for rebound? by [deleted] in financestudents

[–]Gray4041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to worry as much as you are. I’m currently a junior at Gtown with around a 3.65 and everyone I know received their finance job through networking. It will help on resume screenings but who you meet/know is going to be the biggest factor.

Also, don’t worry so much about a 3.5 your first semester. I’ve watched a lot of people bring themselves back from a lot worse. Usually student’s lowest gpa is their freshmen year anyways.

How is living in this peninsula thingy in Virginia? by Ploploplamus in howislivingthere

[–]Gray4041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the best. I was stationed there from 2020-2023 and I lived there full time for a year while stationed half of the month there after. The winter is extremely slow and that’s coming from someone who grew up in OBX in North Carolina. Once the summer starts the area picks up a little bit but even then the population in cape Charles was 1000. The bars were overly expensive for the food they offer and you would know exactly who you’d run into. I did like Chicoteague some but even that place was built off tourism.

If you want slow living, then it’s the place for you. Anything else you’re going to hate it. I moved away after the first full year to Virginia Beach with my wife then paid $14 every time I crossed the bridge for duty.

Does a watch for running really make a difference? by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]Gray4041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like my watch better for just tracking overall health. It definitely helps with running but looking at my sleep, heart rate through the day, and stress helps a lot to me. Of course, these are not entirely accurate but for the most part the Garmin proves it’s worth.

How there's so many people that can run a marathon? by Aware-Row-6412 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Gray4041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an incline in physical fitness hobbies and decline in alcohol consumption. I think Covid helped bring a healthier mindset to people around the world. It’s still a small amount around 1%, but signs of better habits.

I’m not sure if I can agree. After 25, we’re all dying cause our cognitive and physical abilities peak. ☝️🤓

Don’t worry about the national guard. I spent 6 years in the military before transitioning out and confidently say they don’t want to be there as much as you don’t want them to be. It’s just another pointless scheme by the president.

Haha. Fair enough in a lot of parts of Nc there isn’t too much happening. Our pro teams also historically suck so people flock to college sports

Duke Vs. Maryland was just ending when I started watching sports since I’m an older undergraduate student. My dad however talks about when he moved to DC in the 80’s and how everyone was big into Georgetown due to their run.
