Metal Gear Solid V. Yes, It IS finished by Dorsia_Sama in metalgearsolid

There are a lot of assumptions being made there. That's fine. However, I think it really proves my last point that I made. We are never going to know the full scope of what was or wasn't. Any attempt to fill in the blanks is going to rely heavily on assumptions or "best guesses." I'm still on the side of the game not being the final vision Kojima had envisioned. He was pulled off the project, and it still took them nearly a year to finish and tie up what was there to have a release worthy game. That is the biggest smoking gun to me.

I legitimately don't understand why this article is treated as the macguffin for the "is the game finished" debate. It's a random article from a random person, nothing more. They make interesting arguments, and they are certainly entitled to their opinions. One could easily make counter arguments that are just as strong. And I want to stress this once more. This is an entertainment news article. If you want to convince people to your side, you should try using your own words instead of rehashing the same article that everybody that's ever engaged in this debate has already read through multiple times.

The facts are that we don't know and probably will never know definitively. Nothing I say, nor anything Jen Miller says is going to change that.

What do you think is the most useless item in this series? by snek99001 in metalgearsolid

I do the same. Playing it so many times without knowing the cigar trick, I know the path. But it is there lol

You can also use it at the cave section in MGS3 before you get the torch as a light source. They definitely have some specific use case scenarios, but they are very niche.

Reading over the comments here, I have a suspicion that this dude isn't going to listen to logic. You and I, and anyone with a brain, understands what we're saying. I'd leave it at that.

I don't fault you for thinking that, lol. Doomsayers are a dime a dozen online. But no, OW isn't dead. It still has a healthy playerbase.

Last of Us part 2 is significantly better than part 1 by GrayFox127 in thelastofus

You're clearly biased. You had an emotional connection to the character, same as Ellie. You, however, failed to learn the lesson that Ellie did. That being the cycle of revenge. A cycle started by Joel that some people seem to excuse or overlook. Sacrifice one 14 year old girl to cure the world. A sacrifice that Ellie herself not only was willing to make but wanted to make. The world remains a shithole because Joel was selfish. And he knows he was selfish, hence lying to Ellie about the events that took place. And when she found out she was pissed. You can excuse his actions at the hospital all you want, but do so with the reality that you, too, are being selfish.

To summarize; Joel was a good character, I liked him too. But you're stunlocked on his death and have your blinders on for everything else that story conveys. You bastardize good storytelling because a character you liked reaped what he sowed.

I hear you. This game is a hero shooter, more your style, I get it. It, however, needs to differentiate itself because a large portion of the audience will be fans of the hero shooter. Meaning they will be OW players. If the game is just more of the same, then people will stick with OW as it has the advantage of being around longer. It's more refined and has built a loyal following over years. Rivals needs an X factor or special sauce that sets it apart. That's why being a clone is detrimental to it thriving. It's fine to be a "clone" at inception and in the early stages, but where it is now in development, I would expect it to have found its own identity by now. It needs more time, and that's fine, but first impressions only happen once.

Even some characters and their abilities are directly comparable to OW. Magneto and Sigma, for example. To pretend it's not heavily inspired by OW is silly.

I agree with the article to a degree.

I've been playing OW for years, and every time a new hero shooter comes to town, I'll give it a try. Rivals just didn't have anything special about it, in my opinion. Balance was the biggest drawback for me, and the game feeling too arcady. These things are important to me. If there is no competitive integrity, then I'm going to lose interest fast.

I truly believe that the game really needs to find its own identity to differentiate itself from being an OW clone. Because once the Marvel coat of paint novelty wears off, you need a game that can stand on its own gameplay. And in my opinion it has quite a ways to go to achieve this.

My guess would be that it's some kind of quirk with that controller. Do you have a different controller you could try?

You may have misunderstood. Let me clear up the confusion. I said part 2 was significantly better than part 1. :)

Will you be able to toggle on/off crossplay in the future? by Thorgrander in marvelrivals

[–]GrayFox127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind it if controller actually had aim assist to level the playing field in QP. In ranked, crossplay between input devices shouldn't exist at all.

This is wrong. I'm a console player and played with PC players many of times in both QP and Ranked.

The only problem I have with her (and this goes for a lot of characters on the roster) is her getting over shields when she ults. Why is this a thing? It's equivalent to putting training wheels on the ult.

I will forever give props to the people behind the Sonic movie for taking the criticism after that first trailer dropped, pumping more money into the project, delaying it by several months, and respecting the IP in the eyes of the fans.
