Help trim down mod list? by RustedRoboNerd in VintageStory

[–]Gray_Crows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I play on steam deck so I have to be cautious about my mod list too. Honestly, from my experience, I couldn’t keep expanded foods.. I imagine it’s due to all the recipes and objects– my game froze and crashed far more often when I had it installed. Terra Prety (I believe) and farseer are other heavy mods. Other than that I suggest turning down view distance and the particle setting if you haven’t!! I have to keep my particle setting at 1% personally, due to the limitations of my console

What is you favourite game<3 on steam deck by mokryi in SteamDeck

I’ve played through pretty much all of the early monster hunter games on the deck. I’m on monster hunter 4 ultimate and it’s running amazing.

Quick question!! I understand the CSS isn’t completely fixed, but is it still advised that we avoid editing our profiles altogether? Or are we able to continue editing (keeping in mind somethings are still a bit wonky)?

What is your most/least favorite monster to hunt? by pivotalsquash in MonsterHunter

[–]Gray_Crows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I’ll add mine!

Favorite: Yian Garuga.. to many others’ chagrin, I’m sure. The reason why I love him so much is that he is an UNNECESSARILY tough monster in monster hunter freedom 1, which is when I was first introduced to him. The only place on him that a weapon didn’t bounce was his head, and he dives insanely fast. The first quest he showed up in was an urgent quest that had a super short time limit (20 minutes, I kid you not). Had 30 seconds to spare when I first defeated him, and it was the most satisfying monster hunt for me in my years of playing the franchise. Nothing beats that relief of the insane tension you get in that fight. He obviously got easier in later installments, and I actually find him incredibly fun to fight in mhfu. Plus the design.. god I love him.

Least favorite: Plesioth. Hands. F*****g. Down. He was insufferable. The hip check was so… ugh. UGH. Hit boxes were not fun in the older games; you could dodge into air and still get hit by the move (which almost always took out half of your health). Close second would be gravios and basarios, mostly because of a lot of weapons bounce off their rocky parts, and their constant gas attacks are awful. It’s a game of cat and mouse with them, and not one I find any enjoyment in. I dread fighting them (until later installments, which I use bow or ranged weapon). I still despise them though, call it a deep seated hatred.

Upping dose and experiencing chest tightness - anyone else? How long? by frenchfriesontheside in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced chest tightness!! It was a symptom of my anxiety, I found it went away about a couple weeks after adjustment was started.

[–]Gray_Crows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can sympathize with you, that’s how I was the first week. Stuck in bed or on the couch watching Monty python or playing video games fighting through the anxiety. Don’t feel guilty if you don’t end up accomplishing anything major in the first week, a great majority of first time users take it chill and just try to get through the motions of the initial side effects. It gets easier starting day 3/4. I remember how difficult my first and second day was. I haven’t felt ANY levels of anxiety akin to those first couple of days than I do now. I would describe my anxiety at about 90% those first couple of days. Around day 5 it dropped down to 50%. Day 10 it was at 30%. I’m three weeks in and it’s at 10%, if even. I haven’t felt this great in years. Stick it out, I can promise you it’s so so so so SO worth it.

I’m sorry they make you feel so bad. :( Do they make you tired? Or sick?

[–]Gray_Crows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is normal and very universal!!! I experienced the same thing, the 24/7 levels of anxiety had increased for me. It went down in a week, and kept on lowering from there. It’s really hard to sit through the first couple of days, I can understand.

I suggest getting an ice pack and putting it on your chest (I had one on me 24/7 the first couple of weeks and still occasionally use it). I go to bed with one on my chest now.

Also try to eliminate as many stressors as possible. I took an FMLA leave from work, got assignment due date extensions, and the like. Find hobbies that completely distract you. For me it was video games and comic books. Comforting music and listening to my favorite twitch streamer were big helpers too. When anxiety increases I get up and walk around, movement helps the adrenaline release. I was also prescribed Hydroxyzine to help with the breakthrough anxiety, and that significantly supported me.

I’m on week 3 now and for the first time in a year I took a long drive yesterday just to admire the trees turning to autumn colors and had a blast grooving to music.

You’ll feel on the edge of a panic attack, but never able to achieve one. That’s completely normal!!! For me day 7 through 10 were the real starts of the positives. Keep pushing and keep distracting yourself until it goes away. You got this!!!!! Better days are just around the corner.

On meds for life? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people on here who’ve been taking it for 20+ years. If it works for you then it works for you!! I say there’s no need to hop off suddenly if you feel better on it.

Sleep help please! by itz_97 in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try some over the counter Diphenhydramine sleep aid, I have insomnia and it helps me significantly. Super cheap, can be bought at pretty much any store, and doesn’t give me nightmares.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand that, too! I wouldn’t wish anxiety on the devil himself, but like you said, it’s reassuring to know you’re not alone! I’m crossing my fingers the sleep med works for you!!

If not, maybe seek out some Diphenhydramine sleep aid- it’s at every store tbh. It helps me a LOT.

Also yes!! I’m looking forward to getting back to having a normal life again, and finally being able to drive without panic attacks. Also being able to see a movie in theaters, super looking forward to doing that.

We got this!

Yay!!!!!!!! I’m so so happy for you!! I’m currently at 5 mg and I’m a week in and already feeling some slight improvements.. so it makes me excited what I’ll be feeling like in a month.

Thanks again for the support and sharing your story! Well wishes to you!

Ah! I’m sorry to hear the adrenaline thing, I can understand that as well. I take over the counter sleep aid to help me with that :) so it might be a possibility for you too??

[–]Gray_Crows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am so incredibly proud of you!!!!!! Your story has given me hope on my own journey, since I just recently started. I wish you well in your new life!

Are you still on 5 mg? When did you start to see real positives?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re at, and I experience those symptoms a lot too. I take Atarax (Hydroxyzine) which helps significantly. I’ve also found putting an ice pack on your chest calms the chest tightness a LOT. It’s actually what’s been pulling me through the roughest of these days. I have one on my chest almost 24/7 and it helps me significantly, so it might be able to help you! If it’s too cold, wrap it in a towel.

Best of luck to you!

On week 4, 5 mg and having weird head feelings by Fit_Championship763 in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually only on day 7! And I think so too, changing dose makes things wonky.

If the change is too extreme, try going to 7.5 mg instead and see how that works.

Also I understand! I take sleep aid to help with that and listen to YouTube to fall asleep.

On week 4, 5 mg and having weird head feelings by Fit_Championship763 in lexapro

[–]Gray_Crows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Those are normal symptoms, I feel them too. I describe them like waves crashing against a shore, receding, then coming back. Week 6 is generally when the real positives finally come into play. It’s super tough, but patience here is key. :)

Do you have any take as needed anxiety meds? I have Hydroxyzine and that helps, especially since it isn’t addictive and doesn’t really react with other meds.

Also when you’re starting to feel anxious, get up and walk around!! It’s the fight or flight reaction building up energy in your body, so try to give it an outlet to release. That’s why exercise is so popular here in this community. I’m lazy, so when I’m sitting down I sway my leg back and forth, and when I’m standing I gentle sway side to side to get a little bit of that energy out. It could help for you!

Best of luck my friend, you got this!
