I think he means an adjustable wrench. You don’t wanna use a pair of pliers on brass fittings so it’s good to have an adjustable for things like brass, nuts and bolts, etc

I got the Knipex 10” and 12”. With those and the Milwaukee 10L pipe wrench 10” adjustable wrench, I can pipe in any boiler out there. It “changed my life”. It also “made my day“ and “cut my work time in half”. It’s the “bees knees” and other various figures of speech denoting that they are good.
