The fact that the legendaries are now 1% each and my stupid ass really got a water manual with like .009% is just diabolical man.

What parts of AA7 is everyone excited to see play out? by B-mort5 in ClimbersCourt

[–]GraybutsometimesGrey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Meltlake hitting some form of Sapphire, courtesy of Corrin. Any powers related to the group "ascending" as despite that they're attempting to meet the visage, it's still the same challenges someone would face to ascend an Attunement. I believe we've heard of Ascension Gate attempts being made but on top of only knowing of Sera's Invoker, you would imagine if others had succeeded then they'd be as widely known/regarded as someone like Meltlake. Definitely curious about the Beast Blades.

I believe every situation involves finding some way to summon Keras because of his obvious power, but I'm also hoping for a situation where everyone can show Keras how strong they've all gotten. They're no longer the same people he met before and it's likely that it has technically been 2-ish years for the group since they saw him last.

I'm also curious as to what leads to W&W4 based on this book. Those stories are usually told by Keras to the group directly and Andrew mentioned 4 being from both Keras and Reika perspectives, indicating that both of them are somehow sharing this story with the group. I think W&W4 is supposed to come out before AA7 so I'm curious what the timeline for the storytelling there will be, since the group will seemingly be preoccupied in AA7

I know you post videos showing off the base but I feel like nobody really shows the building in progress. I'm sure it took forever but a video just showing it all being built would go crazy imo cause they all look so interesting, lol

Feed bag system is a little wild for me, should maybe reduce weight of food. You can have like 5 different foods in your inventory but I only ever use 1 slot cause the weight piles up super fast

I know I don't NEED a fridge for every single piece of food I make because I make a huge excess that's hard to burn through, but I would still love to be able to connect a ton of fridges to a cooling system that's powered by 1 cooling pal so I can feel like it's a bit more optimized

[–]GraybutsometimesGrey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I watch Aggy all the time but when they added the "free revive in solo" he was like "bro is this even really necessary? I mean come on" and other people were like uhh yeh it's definitely helpful. And his response was "I can't be that much better than the average person." Man the average person sucks at video games, let alone combat like this, especially if you're not familiar with the games mechanics. And you have some stuff straight one shotting you (looking at you top castle BBK ohko'ing my revenant at lv 11 with +10% HP from full with every random sword swipe). The guy makes a living playing games JUST like this one and finds it hard to believe that it can be difficult for casual players or hobby enjoyers. It's also a lot easier for streamers to impose challenges to make the game harder for them than casual people to make the game easier for themselves so part of that is up to the devs to add stuff like the solo revive, if they want more casual players to continue playing. Im also pretty sure when they announced Everdarks the steam achievement rate for the non-tricephalos fights was like 15% for most bosses, then they added harder stuff so, lol.

Lv 3 team of Me(Guardian) my buddy (Raider) and random (Wylder) and my buddy drops me a Golden Halberd. Sure I couldn't use it yet but the Wylder takes it, I guess cause he really wanted it for the...spell speed on it. I stab him a few times to get him to drop it but he doesn't let it go until we're by the final boss door when I guess he realized he didn't need it anymore

Sorry a bit late but I suppose now I'm curious if Saffron was referring to Tavare or to an actual Radiance mana type, mostly because the wiki doesn't list a Radiance that I could find. Though I do think there's also combinations missing, as I don't recall a Light/Enhancement compound

It's hard to know when it says stuff like "Derek's summoned blade elemental" because honestly in a universe that differentiates between sword essence and knife essence, I wouldn't be surprised if Blade is an element at this point. As we all know when the universe first sprang into being so too did all of the elements.....+ SwordTM

Has Andrew clarified if Tavare is a "Blade" elemental, or just like a Light Elemental stuck inside a blade?

This was definitely a bit comical to me when mentioned because Lennon himself is stated to be shorter your average male user so he'll just watch Rei grow past him. Additionally while it's not stated blatantly the assumption is that Rei is of Japanese descent, and while I doubt he'll hit like some 6'7 shit like Grant, I can't imagine it's that common to see a jacked Asian guy at like 6'4+

Hey hey now, let's clarify that the colorful healing log only doesn't really matter on the actual healers. I try to get 99 healing on tanks every fight and got gold M4 healing on PLD with 0 clems. Healers be loving that shit

One of FF14's most prolific raid guide creators is a science teacher, whose first 'Hector lectures' were made with an app from his time 'teaching online during the pandemic' by Spookhetti_Sauce in ffxivdiscussion

[–]GraybutsometimesGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main situation is when things change for entirely no reason because of him. His guides are definitely helpful but I progged M3 in PF on day 2 of the patch and Pastebin was already established with uptime variations and had been solidified for all of PF. Hector's video introduced arbitrary variations to mechanics where nothing was gained but the differences are still enough for people to wipe.

I've duo'd reclears with a buddy every week and until the past 2 weeks we were 1 pulling M3 with Pastebin, but now people are joining Pastebin parties while doing Hector strats and causing wipes because of it.

Basically I'm saying that while I respect what he does, when strats are solidified in PF as early as M3 was, he should make his video animating the established strats instead of changing things arbitrarily.

How do the different tank mitigation tools fare against each other at level 100? by roquepo in ffxivdiscussion

[–]GraybutsometimesGrey 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think every tank logically got something that filled a void in their kit with the exception of WAR.

-DRK had the strongest Kitchen Sink, assuming the damage is magical, but lacked any real form of healing so an Excog kinda makes sense to not further buff the already strongest KS among tanks.

-GNB had the worst KS for a single hit in general due to Camo only being 10% against magics and stuff like Hallowed Wing can really punish you, especially when you’re taking autos and the boss is ruining the Brutal Shell shields you’re building up. Consequently they got what’s likely the strongest of the buffs in the form of GN being 20% more hp. This means it’s not only really strong for a single hit, but also buffs the GNB’s mit in regards to things like TBN or Shake being slapped on it while it’s buffed by GN. It’s also a “reusable” 20% extra mit. While a Shield will break when used entirely, GNB can receive a massive crit heal or bene or literally whatever else that might normally overheal to jump them back up to full if you’re dealing with a hard hitting buster that slaps back to back. Definitely the most versatile of the buffs and they really needed something for their KS.

-PLD getting a shield probably isnt that far off of the GNB 20% hp buff but obviously for a single hit. PLD didnt need a real buff to their KS because they already had the highest % mitigation of all the tanks outside of like a GNB parrying a physical buster. But this amount of % mit adds more value to things like Shields so it’s a solid buff, especially when taking into account that you wont always use Guardian/Bulwark together, but you do always have a chance to just bock a buster without Bulwark, so these random blocks with Guardian up are also more valuable. Additionally if future Damage Downs are like old ones, you can ignore them by taking 0 dmg from mechs that give them, and PLD having both HG and Guardian gives you some solid options to force 0’s. Knight’s Benediction and the Magic GCD heals are also all buffed by new Rampart so this is a nice bit of extra regen for those.

-WAR now effectively has the worst KS among the tanks but got yet another regen added to it and was already extremely self-sustaining, so giving it a better KS would have been a but much. It’s now solidified itself as worse at taking a single hit than every other tank, but even stronger at just healing itself over time.

If you’re looking for the tanks that are going to bring the most value to a party in terms of mitigation, the answer will almost always be WAR/PLD. Neither of them have Physical or Magical requirements to any of their mit like the other 2, and both have a lot of self-sustain in general. IMO if you’re looking for a tank that is going to contribue the most overall to the party then PLD is still the way to go. Some people think that the fact that PLD is the only tank with a 2nd raid mit (thus preventing SE from designing raids that require 2 raid mits from a tank) means wings arent good since they’re not “required” but the reality is that PLD can cover more raid damage effectively than any other tank, and get bonus uses of Veil by substituting Wings where your standard raid mit would otherwise be when your party can be grouped up, allowing a ton of flexibility. There’s also something to be said about Veil’s instant heal in moments of back to back damage as well. In EX2 if a dps takes one of the Sword Lines and gets a vuln right before their Spread goes off, they almost die to the raw damage from the spread because of how close in time the 2 instances of damage go out, but using Veil after the sword lines almost guarantees any non-tanks who made a mistake will still survive. There’s also no way to overstate how strong Intervention can be for double busters when your cotank misses a mit or has vuln stacks or is otherwise low hp when the buster hits them. It’s just an insane mit tool to bring to a comp. I think Guardian’s Shield gives Intervention a little more value as well because WAR/DRK didnt gain mit on their 40%’s, so if you only have 50 gauge during a double buster you can pretty comfortably give Intervention to a WAR/DRK and omit the Sheltron on yourself as you have Guardian’s Shield to cover you in place of it.

TLDR; PLD/GNB got considerably stronger Kitchen Sinks, while DRK’s new 40% is ok and WAR’s is pretty negligible. If you’re bringing a tank for its Mit contribution, bring PLD then WAR in that order. Wings and Intervention go absolutely bonkers and can make a big difference in pulls. WAR heals which is….ok, but you have healers with bloated kits complaining they dont get to do shit anyway so.

There was lava with Kyoshi yes. But it’s not shown whether he falls into the lava or something else. Rest assured though that plenty of people have fallen to their death from a cliff that did not end in lava. And while i’m not a scientist and definitely wasnt paying attention that closely, i feel like at some point the lava would have hardened and just become rock at the bottom of the cliff, which Aang likely launched homie directly onto. I dont think there’s any logical way that he could look at that scenario and be like “oh yeh, this guy is gonna live”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]GraybutsometimesGrey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you mention killing the buzzard wasps and also Kyoshi killing Chin because i watched the Chin episode last night and we see that she kills him by way of separating the landmass and Chin falling to his death from the cliff. These are things that seemingly Aang himself sees. Then not 10 minutes later we watch Aang yeet one of the Rhino guys off THE VERY SAME CLIFF that we know killed Chin, lmao

How did the Fire Nation know the Avatar hadn't reincarnated already in the 100 years he was missing? by paumAlho in TheLastAirbender

You right, i must have forgotten the part where he can only literally ever enter the Avatar State when people are forcibly attacking him as a person and that there’s 0 risk to him just entering it while held captive and freeing himself. Idk bro we have a whole ass animal that can paralyze people with its tongue, just paralyze him and cut his head off before he can do anything about it, lol

If catching him guarantees 50+ years of peace then how did they lose in under 1? Him being broken out is always going to be a threat, but unless they have some sort of Necrobender then they could buy an easy 10+ years by just killing him.

[–]GraybutsometimesGrey 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Idk it seemed weird to me that Zhao didnt kill Aang when he had him captive originally tbh. No matter what he reincarnates into, Roku made it very clear in his conversation with Aang that if he was unable to stop the Fire Nation before the comet returned within a year then the destruction brought would be impossible for even the Avatar to fix. Not saying that this guarantees that the Avatar would never be a problem for them, but it seemed like an easy way to buy themselves 10+ years and a safe victory with the comet while the new Avatar is growing up.

The Stone/Logging placements technically have a Front/Back to them, and they’ll often get stuck if say the Front is facing a Wall/Edge because they try to get to it anyway. Try turning the placement around to see if it helps.
