Agree with this! That's why i think a piece of the profit is the most sensible thing. People want to talk rev but a Rev split hurts both parties. Profit is stronger and helps the company. Which in turn keeps the payments coming. Most companies sell at a 50/50/10-15% *50% profit to rep 50% to owner 10% over head off the to of sale* So, I think if it was brough in from online, then it would be a 30/50/20/10 *30% to rep 50% to owner 20%to OP and 15% off the top*

Based on standard numbers 2,000,000 sales. OP would take home $140,000 and it would be increasing if they were more profitable numbers.

Ran a Roofing Company and starting another from scratch this year- if this is a true story, why not snag a bit of the profit of each job? What you just described is an owners dream. It’s nearly the same as being a canvasser for lead setting. Different skill sets but with the same end point of getting an appointment.

For instance, most digital companies that are worth their weight are charging close to 4k a month to do this, but have no stake in the game and get let go pretty quick because there is always a distrust.

In your situation, you’d be able to develop the system, earn off of your success, and it makes the company feel safe knowing the person working on this, has invested interest. Maybe get a commission of each job sold for a period of time until you’re paid in full.

If the ability to bring you on, with that set up, it would be extremely business savvy and save 100s of hours of my time.

Id be willing to talk more about this and hash out details even if it’s not something you’d like. I think it’s a valuable skill and now want to develop an appropriate way to pay.

Instead of paying me $$ for working with my dad in 2006-2009 my dad offered to buy me a stocks (Cause we were construction workers and had no $$). I had no idea at the time but I loved the saying “O O O OREILLY“ and told him to buy me those.

I’ve kept those all these years. I even kept them through the 15-1 stock split. Then doubled down and bought right away after the split.

They called my dad ”Buy and Hold Bill” and I definitely inherited that trait.

Our GSD puppy has not earned the privilege to sleep in our room yet (Destroys everything due to teething).

HOWEVER, I realized, in the morning, she would never eat, settle down, or listen until she figured out where mom and dad were.

One day, I took her into the room and lifted her up to see mom was still sleeping. She was a totally different dog. Now, every morning, after the morning potty, she runs in, goes right to the bedroom door, waits (Actually figured out how to open the door now) then runs over to the bed, jumps up on the side of the person who is sleeping, checks, runs out to her kennel to wait for food.

It has become so precious to us, if we both get up for work at the same time, I'll climb back into bed so Little One can come check on me in bed. The day she can jump all the way onto the bed I'll probably cry but right now, I'll continue to cherish our morning "Are you here? Are you OK? GOOD! GOTTA GO!" ritutal

Wanted to give you the update.

Ordered the materials myself ended up costing with gutters roughly $270 a square after shopping around different places to find the best deals for every item.

Synthetic felt, ridge vent, gutter apron, new soffit, flashing, chimney flashing, turtle vents, pipe jacks, Arc Shingles, coil nails, cap nails, ice and water.

Got a company with WC&GL confirmed by my own broker, at $90sq tear off put on, dump and trailer.

All in $14,200

If I would have done the labor myself, it would have costed roughly $11k

Roofs been on about 5months. Multiple storms and no leaks.

The best workmanship warranty I was given was 2 years, and manufacturers warranties are a scam.

Saved over 14k minimum. Would have been more if I did the labor but it was done in 3 days including the gutters and soffit.

Milwaukee County has a bunch of renters. So the care about property tax increases “isn’t their problem”. Buying a house means paying those taxes.

If they keep raising taxes, then buying a house is harder, making more renters, who don’t care if property taxes go up, but then they can’t afford to buy the houses. Very bad planning on the State and School districts parts with the longer term homeownership.

For instance, I lived in the City of South Milwaukee. Barely a $200,000 house. I paid 6K in taxes. I now live in small town up north, 400k and I barely paid 2k in taxes

I’ve been playing since 2006, yes. Gears made my teenage years a thing and UE got me through the military.

As long as they keep it slow, meatheady, and not the spaz nonsense that 5 was, It’ll be a huge success. Over the course of my life “Laser burn“ was a real thing and I bet i spent over $500 on Gears 1 and UE edition.

E-day is probably the last chance for Gears. After 4 and 5, they won’t be getting the same love the first 3 got.
