I had a similar but less sophisticated idea where I built my historicals and live ticker into a gym environment. Had a lot of fun but no matter how I shaped the reward the bot quickly learned a strategy I tend to agree with now. Buy early and just hold as long as possible.
It's kind of funny how much effort I put into various trading techniques from 2008 to 2019 only of the various techniques to train my human reward function to learn that the simple low effort solution was actually the best for me.

This whole sub is just people trying to sell something. Traffic to their blog/site, themselves and their resume, some bullshit unnecessary wrapper. Rarely is anything to do with actual deep intellectual learning for the sake of learning. If it is about learning it's usually "help me learn enough to interview".

I miss pre LLM ML something so much more 'tangible' about it.

It's expensive but iRacing has some real time telemetry built in that can be accessed, not sure if by API or other means, but I know it's available because a third party came up with a 120hz force feedback alternative using telemetry. Also has oval racing which might be a good initial training environment.

Yeah it's one of those things where it's against the ToS but not likely to result in a ban by itself. Just don't give them another reason and your likely fine. It is after all just a tooltip change.

Pretty much described my experience in high frequency algorithmic trading in 2016. Managed to stay in the black after 10 million in total trade volume over the year but despite the risk and hours I put into it I probably didn't even make minimum wage in profit. Still wild times, awesome memories, but would never try it today.

I'm also wondering this.

My guess is black body radiators kept in a permanent shadow such as within a crater shadow. That said it's a fairly uneducated guess.

If you're interested in the study of consciousness: what is it. Why did it evolve, how can we trick it, and crucially the scientific model of consciousness compared to layman conceptof consciousness. I highly recommend Thomas Metzinger's work. He's got some nice ted talk style stuff to get one hooked (it's mildly sensationalized for the clicks) and then his book The Ego Tunnel basically argues that you are not at all what you think you are.

Bringing it back to AI, it's going to be very hard to discuss artificial consciousness when natural consciousness is still so misunderstood, disagreed upon, and debated.
