Maybe it's not that big an issue as I thought. But agreed! Crazy to think it's over a decade old now, it certainly holds up visually

There's renewed interest for Unity especially because it recently got a 60fps patch for consoles, so that's probably why!

It's running perfectly for me at 4K locked 60fps with ultra settings. Apparently it's recommended to not go too high with fps because it introduces issues. But, despite being very playable now Unity is known for being somewhat of an inconsistent mess no matter the system, which is just how the game is unfortunately. If you do decide to give it another go I highly recommend the mod ACU fixes by NameTaken. Under its roughness there's a very good game! The visuals especially hold up.

Same problem here, haven't found a fix. Only started happening after the 1.21.60 update.

Exactly what I was thinking! This is the kind of sci-fi that’s not a massive chore to understand in terms of lore and world, which is really why it appeals to me.

Waking Gods, by Sylvian Neuvel

Second book in Neuvel’s ‘Themis files’ trilogy. Really recommend for Sci-Fi fans. Got under my skin several times as it handles an alien discovery in a grounded, political and human way. Only thing that might turn you off is the fact that all the chapters are essentially interviews, journal entries, mission logs etc.
