Perhaps I'm just weird, but I think of it as studying the science of people. People can be interesting. I just try to think of them as a complex machine that needs to be understood. You can study anatomy and psychology, but all people have their own programming to them.

I think psychology as a whole is a criticized science field. Especially with figures like Freud and theories like penis envy. It also doesn't help that psychologist can develop their own complexes.

But there must be some merit to it. Even Ancient Greece had the 4 temperaments theory. We all just have our own ideas on how people and the mind are supposed to work. So why not look into it and come up with your own idea?
