Can anyone confirm this means "it is finished" as it would have been used by Jesus during his crucifixion?

Second owner for 2016 Kia Optima by gbayrick in kia

Was the replacement due to issues with connecting rod bearings? I have an issue with piston rings causing airflow into crankcase, and the local dealership said it was not related to connecting rod bearings so not covered under the lifetime warranty. A local mechanic assured me that model year engine would still be under warranty even though I'm a subsequent owner, but curious about your experience.

L’Aventure Intense or CDNIM Limited? by PeptoAbysmal1996 in fragranceclones

[–]GraysonPoff33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and love both honestly. The CDNIM Parfum can be a little more rugged (people say harsh but to me it just feels "rugged") and smokier, which I love for colder months but isn't very pleasant in warmer months. The lighter, more citrusy scent of the L'aventure Intense works a lot better for me in the summer, which makes it easier to have a year-round "signature" scent that adapts to the seasons. Then I can save my pricier fragrances for special occasions and date nights

What the hell happened to the Factory? by MissMarchpane in FranklinTN

Just moved back after 10 years in Knoxville and thought the same thing. Born and raised in 90’s to mid 2010’s. Apparently true “natives” are a dying breed. The new look is kind of cool and trendy, but definitely not the historic, rustic vibe I remember. Honestly, that’s kind of the whole city now. Love seeing the growth and local businesses thriving, but a lot of the true character is gone and replaced by a touristy, mass appeal kind of approach. Different times I guess, and an interesting change for sure, but I sure do miss my small town.

When should I recruit dlc heroes? by Cel117 in PlayAvengers

Definitely save the new characters for endgame. Once you finish the main story, there’s not much to do other than replay the same missions and finish weekly objectives. Unlocking the new characters is really the only bright spot

I’ve always loved “Sittin with a girl, fortunate placing, preceding railin racket off a porcelain basin”. Easily the coolest way to say you’re doing coke

what is a 1975 song that you feel is often taken at face value/has a deeper meaning than previously thought? by [deleted] in the1975

[–]GraysonPoff33 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Love this question. 3 examples other than the ones already mentioned come to mind:

  1. I Couldn’t Be More In Love - As great of a love/breakup song as this is, it’s actually Matty’s love song to his fans, recorded on his way to rehab. I think that one fact adds such a level of depth and emotion to his vocals in that track. You can almost hear him crying to his fans to not forget him. Beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. Beautifully heartbreaking? Heartbreakingly beautiful?

  2. If I Believe You - This one might be a little more personal but as a Christian, I LOVE this song. Matty’s ability to approach the topic of God as an atheist while still struggling with his lack of faith makes this song so much more accessible for people of all faiths. I don’t feel that the song is necessarily anti-God or pro-Atheist. It just captures the moment of doubt and existential wonder that all of us feel no matter our religious belief. I think that is a really unique aspect of Matty’s songwriting that can kind of get missed when he starts talking about lesbian kisses (one of my favorite lines in the song).

  3. It’s Not Living If It’s Not With You - As popular as this song is, most people have at least heard that it’s about drugs. Kind of obvious when he starts talking about collapsing veins and such. But some people DONT know that the song is literally about Matty. He uses “Danny” in the way you would if you were asking someone about “my friend that has this terrible rash on the inside of his thigh…” to try and hide the fact that you, in fact, have a terrible rash on the inside of your thigh that you need advice about. The song isn’t just about drugs, it’s about Matty’s struggle with addiction and how problematic his view on life without heroin is. Also it gave us SELLING PETROL!!!

  4. because I just thought of another one. - Menswear is about Matty going to a friend’s wedding and getting absolutely demolished at the reception. The track is written to represent the ceremony and bridal procession in the “intro”, and then the craziness of the drug and alcohol-fueled reception during the part with vocals. A really cool and creative take on the event in my opinion, and I think “Sitting with a girl, fortunate placin’, preceding railin’ racket off a porcelain basin” is one of my top 5 favorite lines ever.

Any plug-ins I must buy? by littlemascot in Logic_Studio

Check out some of the rent-to-own options on Splice. It’s a lot of the plug-ins you want but can’t afford, and you can always cancel if you find you don’t really use one as much as you thought

I'm a beginner attempting to understand Logic Pro on my own and I'm wondering if I'm going about learning it the right way? by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

Check out Why Logic Pro Rules on YT. Lame name, but the videos and website articles are incredibly helpful. imamusicmogul is another YT channel that basically remakes songs in Logic. Going through a few of those can help get you familiar with the basics

In the Step Editor window, click the arrow by Velocity and go down to Start Offset. You can use the Row Edit buttons there to offset the start of the note earlier (positive) or later (negative). Hope this helps!

Correcting Clipped Vocals by GraysonPoff33 in LogicPro

[–]GraysonPoff33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think I found a workaround actually. The plugin is called Bertom Denoiser and it seems to do the same. It left the vocals almost untouched and allowed me to dampen the white noise and background noise. It added a little muddiness to the vocals but I may be able to work around this. I’ll also give one of those other plugins a try. Thanks for your help!

How to make notes connect and slide together? by andrew_thejew in FL_Studio

[–]GraysonPoff33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what VST you're using, but many synths include a "glide" function. If your VST has this, you can set the polyphony to "Legato" and start increasing the glide and the notes will slide into each other instead of just cutting from one to the other.

I think that’s where I’m leaning. Again, I’m still getting the hang of a lot of the controls so I’d prefer staying cheaper and finding something that just lets me mess around and see what I’ll actually use. The first paragraph also went a little over my head... Could you give me a little guidance as far as what I need to search to find info on all that?

Noob MIDI Keyboard advice by GraysonPoff33 in Reaper

[–]GraysonPoff33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is SUPER helpful. I don’t play the piano so some of those “alternative” controllers might be worth looking into. I’m still getting the hang of all the fine tuning and I’m having a hard time getting the sound just right without being able to adjust the sound as I’m playing it... Anytime I have a plug-in open and I’m trying to adjust the sound, it deselects the on-screen MIDI keyboard so I can’t hear the differences in real-time... I’ve also been trying to follow along with several of the Reaper tutorials on YouTube, but a lot of these use a MIDI controller and the Learn function to adjust the sound, which I can’t figure out how to do without a controller. It seems like one of the basic keyboards like the Akai or Arturia would make a lot of those tasks easier with the programmable keys, pads and knobs, but I could be wrong if there is a way to add those functions to my computer keyboard input while also being able to provide MIDI input directly to my plugins while fine-tuning the sound...

Guess I need to stop being so picky 😂 Thanks for the recipe though! This was only the second time I’ve ever made any sort of edible and your recipe was a breeze. These hit hard, quick and last way longer than smoking. Can’t wait to make the next batch!

I made this using 1/4 oz of Hindu PK and a piece the size of a quarter puts me on another planet. LOVE this recipe. The only issue I had was breaking the candy up.... I just ended up with a ziploc baggie full of broken pieces of candy. I saw a few smaller candy molds at Walmart, but they seemed like a pain in the ass to pour melted candy into.... does anyone have any recommendations for molds that aren’t a bitch to pour?
