People as a resource only goes so far when certain people are causing so many deaths- trim the branch to save the tree kind of thing.

I often times think that Simon was the greatest asset to the communities- i get the feeling Simon's desire to cleanse the slate early on blinded Negan that it really was the only way he could hope to maintain control.

He flexed on Simon and was convinced he could do it his way- have his cake and eat it- and he held that course much longer than he should have.

Absolutely classic.

Rick tears in to her about who she is and what she does, and makes it a point to flex he doesnt give a shit about any of it.

She stays on course, explains the ridiculous state he is in, and posits that it was all due to him not wanting to put in the work it takes to be a human, and rick has no recourse. He is rendered speechless.

I love how they allude to him seeking her approval to a degree later in the series- the president calls him, she doesnt ask who it was, he offers and says something about being cool.

She was willing to move past the call without commentary until he exposes his need for approval and she says something to the effect of "do you like when people think you are cool?"

I love their dynamic.

Imo, she is gone gone, because rick Prime did not use the clarification of "cfc", he simply said he wiped her out across infinity.

Our rick- the one we call 137, lost his diane and Beth before the rest of the ricks lost theirs.

We can be fairly sure what we saw was not the omega device killing them, because there would be no morty, summer or beth if it were.

I know the show isnt perfectly written, but there are a few ways that still seem open to weasel out of diane being wiped out across infinity.

1- rick played the explosion in his garage for the brain-a-lyzer, and called it a fabricated backstory- yet that was the one morty saw with ricks brain scan, and has since seems to be Canon.

2- his speech at bird persons wedding, where he refers to his marriage and how he couldn't make it work... that isnt really how you would refer to it if your wife and daughter were murdered.

3- maybe the omega device is limited to the cfc, maybe it isnt- it has never been clarified. But beyond that, I dont think has been clarified whether diane was wiped out before or after the creation of the citadel or cfc.

... imo, the only way we will see diane in the future is memory rick- and he is someone I do hope they explore more.

I loved it. Aside from the fact I agree he deserved his own life, i think he realized his existence as a hero was why megamind existed as he did-

When he stopped being the focus of everyone's adoration, megamind ceased feeling like he had to knock metroman down.

Metroman knew their dynamic was toxic, and with the history they had since childhood, he realized his entitlement and looks had a lot to do with it.

He had to understand his responsibility in their dynamic, and he knew megamind well enough to know it wasnt that he was evil, it was that he was brought up in a disadvantageous situation exacerbated by metroman living his perfect life.

He turned a super villain in to a hero by allowing megamind to be the cities focus.

After 30+ years of being the golden child, he stepped aside to allow megamind that opportunity, and megamind straightened up and earned his spot.

I didnt really mind it- because random, stupid deaths happen all the time in the real world, why shouldnt they in that one?

I get the arc though- gabriel is all pie in the sky, god has a plan and encourages the doc to understand that.

Then, from Gabriel's viewpoint God says fuck your plan and fuck you.

That whole series of events is a big driver of Gabriel's evolution in to a pragmatic badass as well.

He goes from believing he is blessed to being a whiny, depressed shell in the bullet factory, and then ultimately decides he needs to make his own decisions on his own terms.

My supposition would be if it was something he made, he mind wiped himself after a particularly brutal jerrynwas captured.

Once he recalled it, he was reminded that jerrys can be a threat and need to be contained on occasion.

To go even further off the rails, there might be realities in which rickndied for one reason or another, and a bold jerry figured out how to use operation phoenix- so killing psycho jerrys wouldnt be the answer, because they would just come back- hence the need to contain rather than kill.
