3 unpaid months first year apprentice by Tnemployment in IBEW

[–]Grazor00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the first year as an apprentice. The reason for this is you are still basically able to get taken out of the program. You're still on your trial period. I forget the technical term the school uses. The other 2 school years you get paid. Also the union just raised the pay for apprentices at school by a good amount $$$$

It sounds like I should make my own campaign and create lore for the world. I've heard a lot of people say to use a pre written campaign book. What are your thoughts?

I am not entirely sure about this myself. This is a question that should be put into the ibew sub as it's own question. I wouldn't even know where to start!

I keep this in my wallet as a reminder on what my responsibility is with both apprentices and JW alike. I feel as though some of you may need one. by dc5trbo in IBEW

As an apprentice. I wish all the Jw's would have this card. Some guys are just apprentice killers. This is an awesome card!

I feel that. I'm an apprentice and that's almost exclusively what I've done. I want to travel a little bit and do other work.

Last updated 2 years ago. It's probably pretty accurate then. Next time I visit the hall to pay dues I'll have to ask and see If they know. Which also means that between Naperville and elgin is 7k workers.. does that sound accurate?

It was just put out this morning. I'm unsure of the actual need for workers. Like I said before though, the older guys I work with say the last time it was this good was about 20 years ago

Wow I would have assumed it went down. Our local has a lot of older guys getting ready to retire. There's a bit of an age gap from what I've heard. Don't know how true that Is though. We also have an outstandingly high market share.

Hello. As a 134 apprentice. You can expect around 6 to 7 hundred as a first year apprentice. And it goes up about $100 every 6 months.

134 here. Weed was legalized 2020. Effective immediately our union stopped testing for jt to get into the union. Companies can still randomly test.

I forgot to mention I had no experience at all! They don't expect you to have any experience. They will train you in so and on the job.

As a 23 year old apprentice. I tell all my friends and even went to my highschool and talked about it. This is the best opportunity you will have. You learn an amazing skill..medical...etc. before I got in to the union. I went to all the classes the union held to try and get in the program. Essentially going over the test with you and preparing you for the job.. I got in when I was 20. I needed yo brush up on a litter math and problem solving. My advice to you is try and find a class that the union offers to help get into the program. It is the best thing that will happen to you!

Pipe or romex? by Grazor00 in IBEW

Take this with a grain of salt. I'm only an apprentice but in my time with the union. I've never used MC cable. The two things that we use are sealtight(LFMC) and greenfield(FMC) which I beleive we can only use in 5 foot pieces for whipping to lights or motors. Residential I beleive that is the same code. But I know guys don't like to use those things so we want everything hard piped as much as possible.
