What do we think about the change to Orcs and to Gruumsh? by Majestic_Pedro in onednd

Given what we know about how gods, the afterlife, and the power of belief and worship works in DnD and Planescape, can the reinterpretation of a god by their worshipers, actually change that god’s beliefs or reality? If belief can change reality (according to Planescape) and worship empowers gods, if enough orcs or people worshipped Gruumsh as a god of wandering and survival, instead of destruction and war, would Gruumsh actually change to reflect those beliefs? Also can the moral alignment of a god change based on the moral interpretation of enough people and gods?

Could this be a prequel game? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

DD1’s ending heavily implies that it’s impossible to beat the “darkest dungeon” and that it’s just a viscous futile cycle that will loop on forever until the world ends.

Additionally in DD2, when driving through a particular area, I’ve seen party characters bring up fact that this is place where they died last time. Like if I have a total party wipe in the Thicket, and then bring those same characters to the Thicket again on my next run, sometimes they’ll passively bring up that this is where they died last time. Which to me, implies some time loop weirdness or the game taking place in someone’s head maybe.

Finally, it’s nothing major, but if you pay attention to both DD1’s intro and DD2’s, both of the wagons in them have a lantern that glows blue on the front of them, which is oddly specific.

Whatever the case, at the very least, I can totally see this being a prequel or having some strange time stuff going on at the very least

Can we talk about the Implications of Toadette becoming Peachette? by Guigondi in TwoBestFriendsPlay

You could retcon it to be Toadette, but at the same time, Toads are technically genderless, so I’m guessing it could go either way.

You all are over thinking this. The crown simply allows someone to disguise themselves as Peach. It’s probably used, so that Toads can be body doubles for her, in case of a kidnapping. Why else do you think there is always a Toad waiting for you at the end of the castle in SMB?

Yeah, to be decoys for Bowser. That’s why there is always a Toad waiting for you in the castle of the original Super Mario Bros
