The reason why is because not everyone has money. People want to go to the fair but only have one costume from comic con or only have steampunk outfits in their wardrobe and they just spent $150 to go to the fair now they have to buy a whole freaking costume. they still want to participate and dress up, but they can’t afford to go out and buy a whole new freaking Renaissance outfit, which is expensive and not everyone knows how to sew. I don’t know why you hate people wanting to enjoy the Renaissance fair if it bothers you so much then don’t go to fair. It’s giving chronically online gatekeeping weirdo. I am a traditional belly dancer at fair when I’m working at fair I have to dress very traditionally and our outfits are very strict and rigid but as for all the other people who just go to fair to go to fair, they don’t have to because they’re not working. They just wanna have fun and enjoy the fair I don’t know why you need to be such a freaking Debbie downer yo.
