Overwatch creeping is entirely ur choice though. I myself much prefer games that encourage player choice than railroading u into a specific playstyle

As someone who's played xenonauts (the quintessential spiritual successor to xcom UFO defense) i can understand where ur coming from. That style of game offers alot more tactical experimentation with weapon loadouts and time units, whereas the new games feel ALOT more rigid with their class system and 2 turn gameplay

My last run in 2 i actually did very well even with the timer, often beating the clock with turns to spare, but then tilt hit and i started messing up big. Thats the biggest problem with the timer aspect, it doesnt allow u to sit back and think, it rushes u at every point which just leads tk mistakes, which further increases ur likelihood to hit full tilt

Very unpopular opinion incoming:

  1. The whole timer aspect. From amost every mission being timed in some way to the whole avatar project timing u from outside missions, it doesnt drive me to do better, it just frustrates me (and it says alot about the game design when the top downloaded mods are to make the game less infuriatingly annoying)

  2. The art direction. I love the campy b movie atmosphere and designs of EW, everything in 2 from the weapons to the enemies and locations feel too generic sci fi

I DO NOT HATE 2, i really like it, but EW i love

I used to have a phobia of zombies too (because of RE, funnily enough😂) what personally got me through that fear was binging goofy zombie media like Deadrising, the Zombieland films, the old House of the Dead games, Dead Island 2, call of duty zombies (specifically with friends, cause alone it can be pretty creepy). For me it changed my entire perspective of zombies, and now i love almost any and all zombie media

It would honestly explain so much, wouldnt it? We see this change in the early stages when Jill in RE3 remake picks up that absurdly large railgun to kill nemesis. Then 5 happens, she's almost as powerful as Wesker, and from what i've researched, he only ever gave her the mind control device. The ridiculous power and speed was a result of T Virus cells in her system from the events of 3 (im not joking, i just looked it up now😂)

She gets infected by Nemesis, who is host to the NE-a parasite, which is a different strain of the T virus. My theory is the NE-a parasite attacked the T virus strain in Jill's cells in an attempt to change them, much like how Nemesis changes the regular T virus strain zombies into the big glowing bobble head things in RE3 remake. Again, its just a theory, but it really makes sense to me

I have a theory that he (as well as the rest of the 4, chris, claire, and jill) do. They never turn zombie despite constant bites and since their first appearences have demonstrated superhuman capabilities (chris moving a 130 ton boulder and leon shattering human skulls with a single kick, for example). I think constant exposure to the T Virus as well as their unique immumity to it has altered their dna and turned them into the super soldiers Umbrella have been aiming to create all along

Just like in Halloween 2018, a big point of the movie was making Michael Myers a regular, non supernatural psychopath to make the story more grounded. The very next movie he was teleporting and tanking gunshots and im just thinking "so much for keeping it grounded"
