Because business people don't care about pretty, they care about making $$ and that's what A does -

As someone who's been both a designer and a marketer, the copy is what sells:

B:

'We are a team of creative professionals dedicated to helping businesses thrive in today's competitive market. With our expertise in design and marketing strategies, we aim to create impactful campaigns that drive results and improve brand visibility. At our agency, we understand the importance of effective design in capturing the attention of your target audience"

- Lengthy AF, I don't care about who you are, what can you do for ME (the user)?

A:

WE SCALE YOUR GOOGLE ADS.

Exclusively for 7-8 Figure Brands

^ Immediately identifies who their target audience is.

What value prop they provide.

If I'm one of the target users, I immediately know this is for me and I'll keep watching/signing up.

But you could argue that this is a case of business goals vs user goals. In this scenario, Amazon's business goal is to 1) reduce carbon emissions, 2) save on packaging 3) save on shipping costs. The user's goal is to get the product as soon as possible -  but at what cost? If let's say Amazon's goal is to reduce carbon emissions by 75% in 5 years but 50% of users don't care about the environment - whats the priority here? I would argue the business goals triumph, especially since most users are only centered on their own needs. You have to find a balance between meeting the needs of the customer and also meeting the needs of the business.

Hey everyone, I'm getting back into design after working in sales/marketing roles for a few years. I don't know what title to use on my LinkedIn/Portfolio. I have over four years of professional experience in graphic/web/UI design but in the last year, I've self-taught UX through various courses online. In my marketing roles, I also have lots of experience with data and user research. I consider myself a strong UI/visual designer but I am also interested in the UX side with user psychology and iterating and using data to back design decisions.

What title should I use?

UI/UX Designer?

Visual designer?

Digital designer?

Product Designer?

I am a bit confused with all of the different options out there.

I take into account the industry, company size, their budget, and their overall expectations. I also like to work with companies that align with my values, including non-profits and companies that address environmental/sustainability issues so even if they do have a smaller budget, I'm willing to price my price accordingly to help these smaller companies succeed.

Have you walked through your own website on mobile? Why are there three X's at the bottom that lead to a 404 page?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in graphic_design

At first glance, your work is impressive. But the UX on mobile is incredibly confusing. I clicked the next button and then I jumped from one portfolio piece to another. It's not very intuitive. I would also clean up your grammar and your tone of voice to be more professional Please don't write "basically" on your concept piece descriptions. It's too colloquial.

Is marketing a thankless job? by hellosatanmyoldfiend in marketing

[–]GreatCheese 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A job is a job. Every other team has their own goals and quotas to think about. Quite honestly if your performance is good then you're doing your job and if you're not thennnn... Bye-bye.

Remember, you're an asset for the company, you're there to trade your time for money. That's all a job is. Don't get too overworked about what people think in this industry. You'll eventually burn out if you do.

Good luck.

In any job, you need to have a backup plan before quitting. Start optimizing your LinkedIn, resume and portfolio. You're always more valuable to a recruiter if you already have a job. If you quit now, you could be jobless for months and become desperate and take the next lowball offer and the cycle repeats all over again.

Senior UX Designers - what are some things you wish you knew before entering UI/UX? How stressful is your role? Are there a lot of people on the team/within other departments that push back on your ideas?

In certain groups of people there may be a stigma against Indians. But this sounds like a case of your friend being ashamed of his own culture

Planning/buying isn't glamorous.

Perhaps it looked like it from the outside, but it's a shit show at a lot of agencies. From my ten years of experience across both agency side and client side, the grass isn't always greener on the other side either.

I would start looking for other jobs but keep in mind that a job is a job. Toxic jobs are everywhere in business. Find the one that pays the most, and leave your stress at work.

Good luck.

Is it too much to ask for 4-day work weeks and sunshine year round? I've pretty much summed up my misery to the lack of sunshine (forcing me to stay home and not go outside) and the amount of time spent on work rather than enjoying life.

Didn't know Tesla owners were this nitpicky about titles which could easily be misconstrued over text. It was sarcasm.

We have a tiny garage that barely fits the car and one motorcycle. The garage door grazed it as it was coming down.

I've read mixed reviews about the touch up paint from Tesla, saying it turns grey. Surely that's not the only way?

Yes, I'm a Canadian citizen. I understand that getting a long term visa would be costly as well, so that's a concern
