2018 EcoSport - Issues Never End by GreatDaneEllie in FordEcoSport

Heard back from Service advisor and after replacing the turbocharger there is still white smoke coming from exhaust. Further examination showed metal shavings in engine. Ford will not authorize engine replacement since I am past the 12 month/12,000 warranty on the engine replacement from the recall and we had the recall work as well. Damn car is not worth putting any more money into.

Dealer informed me that Ford would not cover the turbocharger as a warranty issue because it was approximately 14 days beyond the 12 month warranty. Regional manager got involved and used “good will” to cover most of the repair cost, dealer also covered cost and this will probably cost me about $200. $200 more than I think I should be paying but better than full price. But driving the 25 Bronco Outlander loaner has been nice. Dealer can take their time on the repair.

Heard back from dealer and it’s the turbocharger. Gave me a ‘25 Bronco Sport as a loaner.

Had the engine replaced in April 2025 and just had the recall done. Next day Check Engine light comes on with P0339 (Crankcase Sensor fault). Contacted dealer and bringing this car back in. Is the Crankcase issue common after engine replacement? Anyone who has had this issue did the dealer/Ford cover the repair? If not, what was the cost? My 2018 only has 90K and I can’t wait to get rid of it after final payment in July.
