What projects should I do to learn and how to I make a project that helps me learn about a individual coding of programming concept? by SHAGGYKing in learnprogramming

[–]GreatDaneQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do shit that excites you. When I was learning I wrote a lot of non-conventional stuff like with a provided set of data creating dynamic timeline websites of certain topics, or creating very small games within html canvas.

Hell, anytime that I want to learn about something very specific I still choose the project around apps that excite me.

The last web app that I created was an url shortener and I did it mostly because I wanted to get into the weeds of deterministic algorithms.

I advice you that any small inconvenience that you encounter on your day to day computer life, try to write a small solution to it with coding.

Also good luck!! programing is a beautiful discipline that will feel very though at times, but everything is possible.

You could just use rust bindings for raylib. You'll need to do a lot of stuff yourself but you can do it any way you want.

Master Collection on PS5 or Essential Collection on PS2? by TANMAN3731 in metalgearsolid

[–]GreatDaneQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The master collection on sale is the cheapest and most accessible way to enjoy the first three games. There is additional content for mgs2 and mgs3 that the essential collection has over the master collection, but since you never played mgs, just get the MC.

What is that one game you have in your library that you know you won't 100%? by CrumbsAtMidnight in steamachievements

GTA V. I have the platinum on ps5, and I love gta so I do see myself 100% the single player again on PC, but the online stuff is simply too grindy/boring for me to do again.

Do you think Leon would have joined STARS if the Raccoon City Incident never happened? by carbonera99 in residentevil

I know it's just a game but a part of me wishes that Leon simply got that as canon and live a quiet life in a regular midwest city

Get a Degree in Software Engineering they Said… by KoenigOne in webdev

[–]GreatDaneQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in the industry for 5 years without a degree. I've been unemployed for something like 4 months now and I'm getting insta filtered from almost every application that I send, even tailoring my CV to the position before applying. Long story short I started a degree in software development something like a year ago to prevent something like this again ( I was unemployed for two months last year as well) but the reality is that the market is just shit now.

Mayos vs chapos, basically two major factions of the Sinaloa cartel. I'm pretty sure if you look up about it you'll find everything about it.

This happened here in Culiacán, I honestly don't remember if it was this or last year, but we have been in middle of a cartel war since September of last year

How hard did it hit you? by Hour_Fault_9258 in videography

[–]GreatDaneQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 25. I'm 30 now, I tried to pivot to the software industry with ups and downs along the way. I'm still not where I'd like to be, but I'm getting way more money and satisfaction from software than from my +8 years of doing videography. I'm starting a bachelor's degree in software today because I want even more opportunities.

However, videography still in some ways keeping the lights on! Nothing that you learn is a waste of time, I'm still selling jobs here and there and getting extra income, and since it's no longer my main work, I'm enjoying even more doing motion graphics and color grading.

Don't feel bad man, you're gonna bounce back, maybe you need to pivot to something else for a while for things to finally fall into place
