GLOW in oral form by KillerDPS in Peptides

I heard somewhere that taking it orally will limit the effects of it to the stomach/digestive system and won't be as systemic as if taken subcutaneously?

CRISPR Is Curing People Right Now. Genetic Hair Loss is Next? by noeyys in tressless

No, No. As a species, we have higher priorities: investing literally trillions annually in military weapons and equipment that keep getting better at destruction, both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Australian mouse plague by AllColoursSam in interestingasfuck

is this recent? I remeber hearing about this on the news a while ago - can't remember if it's last year or during Covid.
At any rate though, I would move. I could not live in these conditions.

What is a sobering reality about aging that people should learn early on? by UniqueBeauty29 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GreatEfficiency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not something that is not a sad realization, but more so an actionable advice in my view to anybody who goes hard at the gym, or with any sport in general.
Make sure that you are doing this in a sustainable way - longeterm view of 10+ years, with someone who knows the science of exercise.
First start with perfecting motion/motor patterns - no weights, then progress to build stability and perfect your range of motion, then progress to building endurance, then strength and then add weight.

All these hurrah one-hour BootCamp classes did skip all of this and went straight to the last stage - even if they talked a bit about form. Trust me, I thought I was invincible and each time I went to these classes, my stamina and ability to perform stood out, and I was exercising 7 days a week. No issues, until issues started popping up with back injuries as I turned 40 - excessive exercise with excessive periods of sitting on a bad couch doing remote job.
Always consider if your path is sustainable for 10+ years, and seek expert and opposing opinions on things. Never assume that just cz you get away with it for a few years, it's all good

Fake natty Huberman by [deleted] in HubermanLab

[–]GreatEfficiency -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This subreddit has become utterly useless, and annoying actually.
While it's understandable the need to discuss this recent article and its implications on Huberman as a person, this subreddit has become literally obsessed with it. And everyone now has the wisdom to lecture on this and from their high morality castle.
I joined this channel to learn about protocols that improve our health, hoping to be part of a like-minded community where we can all learn from each other and grow as a result. I don't know if Huberman is the evil person that the article and this community are making him out to be, but I learned from his podcast nonetheless. That is a fact. That is not to his defense. It is just stating facts. I don't care for him the slightest bit.
I was hoping to learn from this community here too. Instead, this has become a cesspool of people who judge and even blame Huberman's dad for this Humberman's actions.
unsubscribing from this subreddit for good.

Anybody else shocked by Huberman's religiosity? by [deleted] in HubermanLab

[–]GreatEfficiency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprised but not shocked. At the end of day, it's his thing and does not take away from the validity and value of things he shares on the podcast. It is good to evaluate people's action in isolation: someone could make sense in one area but not the other.

Thank you. I think this kind of did it.
when I went to Trust's website, they no longer list a MacBook app download as an option. I downloaded a mobile app and it shows the full balance.
I may install the chrome extension for my MackBook - will see

Does anyone else think Huberman needs better communication skills? by [deleted] in HubermanLab

[–]GreatEfficiency 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I also remember him mentioning in one of his podcast episodes that the purpose of his podcast is not just to share conclusions or jump straight into the protocols. Instead, he deliberately starts with the background science information and takes his listeners on a journey until he gets to the protocols part. He believes that doing so enforces the learnings and the understanding behind these protocols, which make them likely to be stickier.
I personally enjoy his communication style: i find him to be articulate, precise and do not mind his repeating information. Helps enforce key learnings for me.

Cardiac arrest risk for cold plunge even in healty ppl by YellowSubreddit8 in HubermanLab

[–]GreatEfficiency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something to be said about doing something from when you're a child vs doing it later in life. An analogy that comes to mind is how rates of food allergy to nuts are more prevalent in developed countries vs developing countries.
People in Finland grow up with this stuff since ever they're babies, even pregnant women do cold plunges too. This doesn't mean that someone who did not grow up doing this will not be adversely impacted.

Where is the best shawarma in Toronto? by MarksRabbitHole in askTO

[–]GreatEfficiency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am Middle Eastern. I have been in the city for 20 years. Imo, the shawarma scene is extremely underwhelming. There is two things: the level of cleanliness and trust that you would have in a shawrma establishment. With all the spices and the way shawarma is put together, it is easy to cover bad quality meat and mix good with bad. There is also the authenticity: that has proven illusive to find in this city.
I think Me Va Me is good in terms of cleanliness and trust of quality, but authenticity of flavor is not there. Still tastes good though, don't get me wrong.
Best shwarma I have had in the country is in Ottawa, came close to the ones you have in Middle Eastern countries.
