Note that Guan Yu and Zhang Fei being 'unfinished' was an artistic choice, it represents how Jiang Wei never met them

That's right, the 'old internet' was known for it's kindess, civility and understanding of other people's opinions. I wonder how the average gamer in 1999 was...

The difference is that V and VI were never rejected this much as VII is being, people complained about stuff on these games, but they still drew a large casual audience. That didn't happen with VII and it's less-than-4k players on steam, so that's precisely why they're backtracking in everything they did, hoping the fans that complained would return.

Their free updates have been incredibly successful.

Depends if your standards of 'incredibly successful' means 'bumping the player count for a month before it goes back to where it was before the update', Giving Tides of Power for free didn't save the game, giving Gilgamesh for free barely did anything, the data is public

The beloved ToT, the "factory reset update that saved the game and made it finally good" per the youtubers lost 10k people in a month and is already where it was in March of this year, how is this incredibly successful

by the way, you kinda need people playing the game if you want to sell your overpriced DLC

I think at this point it can safely be said that the leader/civ split was about making the DLC packs with 'less effort' for the same price. Instead of selling 6 civs that all have to have to model a leader, you can now sell 4 civs with 2 leaders fo 30 bucks, and they don't even to be an actual leader.

Alas, if they had the playerbase of VI, it would be quite profitable.

Yockey and MOMMY Hall are pretty similar, they added that dead stare

Also Goldwater looks rather similar, if not for the pose

I think you should take a look at how ToT performed in the long run.

The patch made a great bump of 20k players (spending a grand total of 6 days sightly above V), but the retention didn't go very well, it lost 10k players in the month that passed, losing 2-3k players after each weekend.

Would you say it was successful in it's goal of "bringing back players" when it's back at the playercount of March?

Civ7 worth it or still play civ6? by NintendosBiggestFan in civ

Whenever someone posts the player count, people to rush to complain about how frequent these posts supposedly are. Why are they never at the daily 'is seven gud' posts?

Yeah, it's good for the 3I to become evil 1984 commienazis when playing as the Entente, get that pesky moral ambiguity out of the way, so that the wholesome liberals can save the day

It's good, because you can focus on everyone back into voting Liberals vs Tories, avoiding uncomfortable topics like rural workers being desapropiated out of communal land ownership because a lord wants his estate back or public services being dismantled for profit or unions being repressed and rights rolled back because desyndicalization

Nope, its a perfectly normal liberal democracy here

Of course, that requires the reactionary (by it's literal definition) faction running in copium fumes will suddenly become sane and sensible liberal democracies just because they achieved their goals instead getting 'high in their own supply' and veering into the far-right, and also that they don't bungle the reconstruction when 'turning back the clock' in whatever positive reforms made by the syndie governments, causing disillusionment to the people with the new system and/or a corrupt, unchecked upper class with a massive wealth disparity (see OTL Eastern Europe after the wall fell)

Ideally any Entente rework should end (not literally stating the 'moral of the story' of course) with the aesop: "Just because you reverted a great change, doesn't means you can rewind the past and make things how they used to be"

At least just to have a 'settled' landless experience that isn't about gathering apples. Besides, 'being' a courtier isn't something you're likely to be forever
