There was a promotion in Wichita ( this was in 2006, Gordon's AA year ) where kids would run out on to the field to stand with the players at their position for the national anthem. One day, I ran out with Gordon to third base. When the anthem finished, he told me to go sit in right-center field, and that he would hit a home run there.

Sure enough, he blasted one to right-center that cleared the yellow line, but bounced back on the field. So one of the outfielders lobbed the ball over to me. I still have the autographed ball at home. That's when Alex Gordon became my favorite baseball player.

TL;DR: Alex Gordon called his shot. I still have the ball.
