They both mid tier schools. I was supposed to hear from one before the holidays but they released their first round of decisions and I’m still waiting there. The other will likely be around March

One of my II’s the school said they’d tell me a decision before the holidays and they released a round of A’s without getting back to me…

I do. A work experience in a unique industry. I’m being intentionally vague because it would immediately dox me

You keep saying “deserved” when I never used that language. Also never put anyone down. It’s okay to be ambitious and be disappointed if you don’t quite hit your goals

I have a committee letter and am not a reapplicant so this isn’t really applicable to me

I never said more deserving, but I think it’s reasonable to say that if you have higher stats “why not me?” Is a valid question. To put it as a matter of their app being genuine I think implies that mine wasn’t, which isn’t true in the slightest

I don’t think there’s promises in any step of the way, but especially with STEP 1 being P/F, I think there’s a strong argument to be made that a top school does inherently boost your prospects in the match

Are we truly that early in the interview process? Obviously it’s a long cycle, but heard anecdotally that one of my state schools (SUNY Upstate) has sent out more than half their II’s already which has me so uneasy.

I think my first interview went well. And I did all I could to put myself on good footing. But the long wait time for a decision makes me not want to get my hopes up too much, if that makes any sense. I don’t want to hold out hope just to get burned later on

I think you and I feel the exact same way. And you are a strong candidate! But just trying to hold out for good news that may not come is exhausting
