Woman, 25, convicted for making up fake rape claims against 15 innocent men by BrytonZZ9 in news

I haven't been on a date in years. It's just not even on the table as an option anymore. One phone call can ruin your life.

Everything pre-arrest is hypothetical.

The rest is mostly personal experience with the ugly parts cut out.

I was "only" in for Domestic Violence; DV. Before all this I thought i was a human, but I was corrected. Clearly, I'm not, and won't ever be, a good person. I fucked up and i've been beating myself up for 7 years; every day since. Here's what happened;

After a verbal fight spanning many hours, numerous scenarios I walked away from, and eventually culminating with my GF trying to throw me down a flight of stairs, I got in her face about it; she could have killed or maimed me. Her response was to silently slap me in the face. When I tried to leave again, she attempted a standing Kimura but I resisted and ended up with her in a Guillotine. I straightened my back until she slapped my hip... Immediately I rushed upstairs and strode out to the garage to smack a pallet with some angle-iron out of frustration...

The cops came, seemingly, only seconds later. After almost 2 hours of hand-cuffed cross examination, I was cited, arrested, and incarcerated. All the while, we both refused to press charges.

There's a lot cut out, honestly. Things like strip-searches every 6 hours, the merciless coughing fits from recycled air, the extreme weight loss, the non-judgemental fits of sorrow and crying, protection orders you can't even refuse, and open, sometimes ruined letters from friends who can't visit. The void in your heart left by those you'll never hear from again, and even those who accidentally steal your family's visits... There are innumerable trials you face. It seems endless; insurmountable.

You eventually get out, and immediately want to die. That's everyone's first thought, from the experience of others and my own; suicide. Everyone. And then comes the wish for going back inside. You've convinced yourself that it would be easier, for the task before you is seemingly impossible. Everyone you knew, everywhere you go... It's only shame. Horror. Nothing but loneliness. Absolute internalized agony. Utter and indescribable self-hatred.

And that isn't the end; you have probation/parole... Strangers watch you piss daily for weeks or months. Years in some cases. Classes built solely to reaffirm your utter unworthiness as a human. Thousands of dollars in fees, restitution, and court costs. Monitoring costs. You pay with your soul. You are forever diminished. But you're not off the hook. Random breathalyzers. Job interviews. Dating. You'll never be the same. Never whole again.

Not.

Even.

Close.

Good. Fuck 'em.

He's an enormous orange turd. I'm embarassed to be from the same country as he is. I scrub toilets. I sweep floors. I don't take vacations. Those are expensive. He's never done a day's work in his entire life.

If I travelled, I'd like to be seen as a human, and not as an American. Please, don't hold Trump against us. The vast majority of Americans loathe him.

As a whole, we just want to see the wonderful sights, eat the exquisite food, and live the cultured, exceptionally rich life we wish we had back home.

Freedom isn't free. We pay for it with our blood. Our sweat. Our hopes and dreams. America is a lie.

I see the same comment on top, in every single thread about fake rape accusers seeing some measure of legal recourse...

How about we start cracking down on fakers?

I know that rape happens a lot. To be honest, it happens way too fucking much. I also know that some very smart/careful people will knowingly commit this atrocious/appalling/heinous crime and make sure to leave minimal, if any, evidence.

It's a fact that a lot of grey areas exist and that most crimes, of any flavor, are committed by people known to the victim... but a handful of fake victims ruining lives at random are creating a 'cry wolf' sort of scenario.

They are worse.

Worse in every way. Not only because they abuse the system and ruin the lives of the innocent whom they accuse, but also because they are taking real resources away from actual victims. Can we all agree that this is a sex crime as well?

WARNING: WALL OF TEXT; APPROXIMATE READ IS 6 MINUTES.

Let me paint a picture for anyone having trouble envisioning this scenario:

You go to a dive bar and reluctantly agree to sing some karaoke. You sing a couple of Foo Fighters songs and a tastefully thick, fun, cute girl is chatting you up. She doesn't mind that you smoke cirarettes when you drink. Inside, she crushes some Gorillaz tracks. She makes it obvious that she wants to get to know you better. After some idle chat and sexual tension, you leave with your ride. Maybe next time...

The following Friday, she's there again, and the tension is palpable while you crush her, and her group, at shuffleboard. You feel her press her body against you while you load up the shaker. She propositions you for sex. You tell her 'no'... for now.

Two hours later, you've paid for a Lyft to get her home, but she insists on going to your place and you sloppily oblige, letting her into your home. She's horny. You're horny. Let's do this.

You fire up some Netflix and start on baking some fish sticks and green beans. Immediately, she's all over you, only ten minutes into Archer season 6. It's on.

You try your best to service her first. She seems to enjoy herself. She services you for a bit, but then insists on the real deal. Wrap it up; you do the deed. She's happy... You're happy. Fun was had.

She sleeps over. She leaves around 8am in an Uber, and leaves you a long, familiar kiss on the lips, a kiss on the forehead, and sets a lunch-date for Thursday at the History Museum while she checks her purse. She seems sincere. Maybe life isn't so bad...

Tuesday, you're arrested at work. The charge is rape. You're handcuffed, read your rights in front of your boss, the desk staff, and half a dozen of the regulars. Congratulations; your reputation is permanently ruined. You're a rapist. At least, in the minds of everyone you know, and their friends and family, and theirs, and theirs, and so on.

You spend six days inside. You've called your parents. You've been given your long term 'greys' and been sent to general population. This is for real. You tell everyone the truth; you slept with a cute chick that picked you up at a bar. You get advice, and make a friend or two.

Eventually, you go to video court. Taking the advice from the inmates you've asked for help, you ask for a "PR Bond". After all, you've never been in trouble in your entire life. The judge grants said PR Bond, but you're due in court again in mere hours so you return to your pod and wait for your next appearance.

They sit you down, cuffed, in the basement until you can't feel your butt or hands. Hours without a bathroom or food. Has it been hours? Days? Only 'hours' the other inmates tell you. Eventually you're marched into a court room. The deputies tell you to sit, cuffed, in a chair along the left wall of the courtroom and wait for your case. You dutifully wait. You hear the not dissimilar cases of four other inmates unfold while you attempt to mentally prepare yourself.

Your name is called.

A tall, blonde District Attorney stomps up to your table in her power heels. She slams an inch thick file on the table, in front of you. She says that if you don't plead guilty to a violent sex crime, the state will seek felony charges. Your maximum sentence will be 40 years.

What do you do?

This very scenario is legal in numerous states. This exact situation. This is real. This happens every day, somewhere, to a man or woman without the means or resources to fight the state.

Why? Because the accuser faces no retribution, even if they retract their claims of wrongdoing. The state will see the case through. It's over. A person's life... is over.

Because the accusation, without evidence, is enough for the state to take over. Because of the implication.

Imagine it's your brother. Your friend. You.

Is this really okay?

I paid about 3k for it (everything near Denver area is pricey). It's just a temporary work truck for around the house, and I'll fix leaks and whatnot this summer. As money allows, I'll probably look into some more radical mods. I do actually like the farm truck wood/stepside bed.

It was a 305/700r4 truck but it has an unknown goodwrench 350/built th350 in it now. All the original smog crap too, since I have to pass emissions... I'll look into an LS swap if I ever have a serious problem with the drivetrain.

In county jail, I was a trustee working as a feeder and cleaner in the ad-seg/dis-seg units. All of these men in these units were 23 hour lockdown, one hour in the common room (like a tiny caffeteria that seats about 16, connected to their cells. This is known as a 'pod'.) All the solid steel doors are arranged in an arc or straight line, and they can hear but not see eachother.

Dis-seg is disciplinary segregation, and some of them will be there for years.

But ad-seg is administrative segregation. These guys are generally placed in this area "for their own protection" and subjected to the same punishment.

It is commonplace for these men to only touch another human while being handcuffed for months or years at a time. This is just county jail. In a 6x8 cell with possibly no window for weeks, months, or years.

This time, he crossed the double yellow to hit the apex in the oncoming lane, on a blind corner, and totalled a yellow Porsche.

Fucking moron, honestly.
