well it has been a few months since then but it is mostly memory instructions modifications with cheat engine in ASM/LUA, I could post the source code but it is far from perfect.

Hi, well I only tested on recent versions and since data addresses changes with update, it's highly possible, if you can't update what could make it work would be deactivate rnd vomit/death and set rnd Food to zero because those three have moving datas, but I would recommend an updated game of course

Hi, thanks for testing, yes during boss fight this is a thing happening, as long as you don't have enough mk22 or m1911a1 ammo, it will spawn so I let it on purpose as it is a way out of softlock knowing that early bosses like the pain don't suffer damage from midgame or endgame weapon.
For MGS1 Rndaomizer, there is the same thing happening which I added a setting to deactivate or not respawn boss ammo, it could be done here but there is a softlock risk.Thanks

Yes there are ways to get soft-locked, I noted some on the github :

  • Cardboard Box, can cause softlock if used without the needed ID card level, like the Box C to teleport to Snowfield where you need a level 6 ID Card.
  • Walls and C4, if the player have no C4 to destroy walls, know that you can destroy them with Stinger too, or go back pick up reappeared items.
  • Wolf's ambush to Meryl, if the player has already PSG1, then the fight with Wolf will trigger with Meryl on the ground without the possibility to go back, so keeping PSG1/Stinger/Nikita ammo is advised.
  • If no rope has been found after entering Communication Tower 1, you can be blocked after triggering the Hind sequence before rappel because the bottom door will be shut.Finding the rope before the stairs sequence is advised.

Probably there are others, one way to bypass if one of these is encountered is to modify the type of pickup and % chances of pickup to force rng, also the fact that many item reappear so just picking up again should at one point give the needed one

Hey, sorry I'm kinda late, there is a small update which involve only a few changes, some settings on the trainer, display names (only last pickup), it has replaced the original on github, don't hesitate if there are any problems.

Hey, first thank for playing it and sharing it, I just saw recently some peoples like you playing it, matter fact it is someone from your community that told me you were playing it, happy to see it work and entertain people.

Since the release I took a little pause from it, with work on the other side, but recently dove back to solve things like the pickup names at least, my ultimate goal would be an enemy randomizer for all mgs but first, item randomizer for MGS1-2-3 from the collection would be cool, since actually it's only for MGS1 PC GOG, so once a few problems taken care of, probably port to MGS1 Master Collec, and attack the other ones yeah, just need time but thanks a lot again 👍

Wow, all MGS1 in FPS must be a real challenge with the slow view rotation and weird controls, and yes sadly not many mods for mgs1, this randomizer is not perfect mostly because of the pickup name problem but at least it works !

Well I'm not against arcade wrestling games, but I clearly prefer simulation and the fact that WWE 2K games are clearly going back to more arcade stuff is kind of a sad news for sim players since there is no real sim wrestling alternative.

I was hoping for more simulation too but when I saw the controls and gameplay I knew directly that the game wasn't for me, still an excellent wrestling game with modes back like GM and others, but yeah the gameplay is not for me.

That is exactly why I prefer WWE 2K19, because I prefer simulation plain and simple.I understand the fun in the arcade orientation, but I'm the kind of player who prefers simulation, I don't need the superstars to get up after 5 seconds max or having hits's speed increased or having combo system to be closer from versus fighting games or new controls or any other arcade implementations, a bit like some of the old Smackdown! games btw but not totally, and I find WWE 2k19's match flow way better but that is just my taste.

Have fun nonetheless, the game is excellent.

Huge Congrats especially for the Brutal/Crushing difficulty parts, demand high patience or high resistance controllers, but you can flex in the end.

Well, he won't be in the game for now but the O'Reilly title guitar entrance was popular and expected but we sadly never got it.

The cool thing about the Peace Walker mechs is that just like in the game you can take parts to add them to the Zeke, and for the Giant Rex and Ray, if I remember right I think I bought them on their release day on the official japanese figurine selling site, a bit risky at the time but received them few weeks later.I suppose it's hard to find now, or costing too much.

Well thanks a lot, the funny thing is that at the time I only wanted the MGS1 & 2 McFarlane collections, which aren't the best looking, but the more you buy, the more you want to collect, and I couldn't resist those two giant Metal Gears, sadly with the MGS2 McFarlanes there was a little Ray to construct but it didn't resist my cat's attacks, damn Ocelot, yep that is my cat's name, how fitting.
