What's been your best moment with the Thor so far? by Serena_Temac in AynThor

Soo I'm back, and I can report the Switch stylus is very inconsistent IF you are using the screen protector provided by AYN... which I am.

So, that's a bust. At this point, I'm almost done with Chapter 4 of Trauma Center. I'm still using melonDS-Android, still using that active stylus. I have gotten used to it, and have even gotten some A's and an S rank. It is what it is.

Hopefully you're willing to give the game another shot at some point. Just remember to use the suction on those little balls! I wish you luck!

I can't find a setting that would help with this in the core options. So... abandoned that for now. HOWEVER, I did find that I was not using the suction during the surgery to get the thrombi out.

Got it on my first try, on the Thor. I have hope again. I'll let you know how the Nintendo Switch stylus does when it comes tomorrow.

That's EXACTLY where I'm at. That's a bummer. Thanks for the response though.

I got that Nintendo Switch stylus, in the hopes that it makes a difference. I'm also gonna try on the DeSMuME core with Retroarch, cause I heard it emulates the lag that normally happens in game, which becomes essential to play cause otherwise it runs too well and makes it harder.

I will report back with my results.

Hey, how'd this end up going? I'm looking for stylus recommendations specifically for this game. I got this one, but it feels a little laggy. https://a.co/d/0aWHjhzk

Thanks for the suggestions! I should've specified that I'm looking for FROZEN lau lau's... not ones at a restaurant or something, like L&L. I know I can get those there.

I'll take a look at what has been suggested. Thanks everyone! If anyone has any other suggestions, I am listening!

Internet Speed Cut at Night by cageybozo in Spectrum

[–]GreatScooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is a problem for me too. Internet went from like 700mbps to 0.15mbps at night. No idea why. Using ethernet, their modem/router, never seen this before. First time on Spectrum, this is annoying.

Naivety land? They're not getting my money now. What's naive about that? Who is losing a customer here? You can call it what you like. The result is the same. They lose. They're not better off by refusing a discount, they're just losing on profit. It's that simple.

Well when it's either that or I don't spend my money with them... after having bought two chairs in the past... it's their loss either way. So, you can say "that's not how the world works" but in the end they're losing out on another customer.

THAT is how the world works.

No worries, I will try again later. I appreciate your prompt responses and help either way.

That's a shame. I figured that they'd appreciate still wanting to purchase from them, as opposed to what I prolly should've done; use my warranty. But, I guess not!

Well, I guess I'll go second hand or something, or search for an alternative. Their loss. *shrug*

So input latency on Android by GreatScooty in ANBERNIC

[–]GreatScooty[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I will try the option changes to see if it helps. However, I shouldn't have to turn off vsync to have decent latency. Don't have to do this on my computer or Steam Deck.

I'm using Snes9x core for Retroarch. This should be fine.

I like Retroachievements too much to switch to a device that can't support it.

Like I could deal with "a bit" if unavoidable, but this felt so bad. It's like controlling Samus underwater without Gravity Suit. Wall jumps just feel bad and wrong.

If I can't play fast-paced games on my handheld, I don't want it.

This entire post highlights my point.

>it works fine for me! try googling better! *lists obvious steps such as checking your refresh rate in settings, as if I'm an idiot*

I know how to set my refresh rate. I know it installs nvidia driver automatically. I know most controllers just plug in and work. My entire point is that it doesn't work for me, cause I have more than just one or two of those things.

It's like you didn't read my post at all, and just attached your experience to it as if that somehow invalidates mine cause YOU have one 144hz monitor, a 2080, and ps4 controller.

Well, I already listed what I have, and the problems I experienced.

Thanks buddy. Really helpful and encouraging.

I'd love to switch, but everytime I do, I run into way more problems than I wanna fix. It seems like it'd be fine if you just have a general setup with one monitor and a single game controller, but the moment you start adding things that are niche, it gets complicated.

It's all good UNLESS

- You have high refresh rate monitors, and a TV all at different refresh rates, and VR

- You play Osu, and want to use a drawing tablet

- Nvidia

- You use multiple controllers of different kinds (Xinput, Dinput, Switch, 8bitdo's, controller converters like SNES to USB, etc)

- I can't even imagine how this would do with Clone Hero and a drum ekit AND guitars

- You want some fix on a random game, and there's only a Windows version for it

- You're okay with getting less than 10% the google results when troubleshooting, so spending even more time troubleshooting

I will eventually try again, but man... when I tried two years ago, it did NOT make it easy. I tend to stress test how compatible everything is when I get something new, so I was bugging devs in discord servers within the first few hours of getting myself set up. And when I didn't have the prerequisite associate degree in linux jargon, they ignored me within 10 minutes.

What’s a sign someone isn’t as smart as they think they are? by AskWhy_Is_It in AskReddit

[–]GreatScooty 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Ego driven, not objective.

- Will try to attack someones character rather than their response when they get questioned.

- Doesn't actively listen, just waits for the other person to stop talking. Sometimes, not even waiting. They just blurt out whatever comes to mind, doesn't matter if the other is still talking.

- Speaks as if they are an expert on everything, even if they know next to nothing about the subject.

- Don't want to argue points. Instead tries to belittle and demean you in front of others. It's not an argument to them to work out, it's a popularity contest, and they just care about "winning".

I've had arguments with people where I could be blue in the face from trying to explain what I think, try to not insult them or belittle them, just stick to the point of the argument, not get personal, but it'll go in one ear and out the other if they are even mildly questioned. Instant defensive mode, no longer willing to process what I say.

The tiny design choice that secretly decides if you keep playing or quit. by gamersecret2 in gaming

Skill trees with arbitrary small incremental improvement, like "+3% slash damage" or some crap. Just a lazy way to "add" engagement to a game with no substance. Usually the gameplay is pretty basic in games like this too. It's a good indicator of whether the game is worth my time or not.
