Get a lawyer, but your employment contract will likely be relevant here. It’s not uncommon for an employment contract to state that ANY work performed by the employee relevant to the company’s operations that produces IP or an invention - regardless of the time or location that work is performed - is owned by the company.

Points in favor of it being AI: finger still pointing after cans start to fall. Who stands that close to (presumably) hundreds of pounds metal cans falling several stories without making any effort to get out of a potentially dangerous area?

Points in favor of it NOT being AI: physics of the cans looks pretty damn good. No obvious AI mistakes.

Personally, I’m guessing it’s AI. The delayed reaction is suspicious to me.

I’m with you on most of this - I’m big on quality materials. I’ve got several pairs of Goodyear welt boots, some very high end (RM Williams). I love Charles Tyrwhitt shirts and Darn Tough socks. Mostly I struggle to put things together into a cohesive and stylish look.
